UFORA89036: Carol's Life-Long Abduction Case

The central case detailed is UFORA89036, concerning 'Carol,' who reports a lifelong history of paranormal experiences and UFO encounters beginning in 1968 when she was six years old. At that time, she, along with her teacher and classmates, witnessed a large, silver, cigar-shaped object at close range. In 1972, she experienced a night-time event where she felt watched, saw a non-human male figure (initially mistaken for a cat), and was then floated up into the sky towards a hovering 'star' that resolved into a large object. A hole appeared in its bottom, and she experienced missing time.

Following this, she found herself in a room with an orange light and entities present. The room smelled like a hospital, and she was lying on a table where a being used a 'bit match' to place a mark on her right leg. She was telepathically assured that everything was alright and that it wouldn't hurt. She then awoke in her own bed.

The described being outside her bedroom was small, 4-5 feet tall, with a white, glowing body, a large head, a pointed chin, yellow eyes, and a skinny body. The being on the table had a yellow body, a big head, and dark-black, almond-shaped eyes.

From around 1972 until she was 16 in 1978, Carol experienced recurring nightmares of a 4-foot tall dwarf with a grey body, no hair, a round head, large eyes, and no visible ears or lips.

In 1978, while staying at a shack near Robe, South Australia, with a friend and family, a brilliant white light illuminated the dark room. The light moved outside, and afterwards, the girls experienced missing time. Her friend confirmed Carol's involvement. Carol also has fragmentary recollections of 'spheres' in the room during this incident.

Carol's account includes a long history of other paranormal episodes such as poltergeists, out-of-body experiences, telepathy, apparitions, and clairvoyance. She possesses strong eidetic imagery skills and can become highly absorbed in activities.

Carol is married at 27 and has a young son. One of her sisters has also experienced unusual dreams involving yellow-skinned men.

Similar to Susan's case, Carol is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and is undergoing therapy. The issue references American psychologist Rima Laibow's observations on child abuse and abductees in the May/June 1989 issue of IUR.

Budd Hopkins' 1987 book 'Intruders' is mentioned in relation to strange pregnancies experienced by some abductees. Carol herself experienced an unusual pregnancy in 1988, with symptoms mimicking pregnancy, but it vanished after two days of unusual bleeding.

She reports that the phenomena continue to the present day.

Other Network Cases

Research Notes

1. Australian Crop Circles

A suggestion is made to conduct a nationwide appeal for observations of swirled crop circles, timed for January 1991 during the crop harvest season. Members are invited to share their thoughts on this suggestion with Keith.

2. Annual Round-up

The January 1991 issue of the Digest will feature a summary of all reports forwarded during 1990 that were published in the monthly Digests. This annual listing, similar to one done for 1989, received an excellent response. Associates are encouraged to forward any reports they wish to be included in the 1990 summary by December 30, 1990.

New Books

Advnaced Aerial Devices Reported During The Korean War

A review is provided for R.F. Haines' 1990 book, published by L.D.A. Press. The book, priced at US$9.50 plus postage, is described as a fascinating account of strange aerial objects seen over North and South Korea during the Korean War, with an analysis suggesting they were neither American nor Russian.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The issue strongly emphasizes the collection and dissemination of UFO sighting and abduction reports, particularly from Australia. The editorial stance appears to be one of serious investigation and documentation of these phenomena, as evidenced by the detailed case files and the call for contributions to annual summaries and specific investigations like crop circles. The inclusion of a lifelong abduction case and references to psychological aspects and other researchers like Budd Hopkins suggest a commitment to exploring the broader implications of UFO phenomena.
