The News

Moon Flight Announcement: Utis T. Carr, President of CTC Enterprises, Inc., announced his intention to fly to the Moon on December 7, 1959, piloting his craft OTC-X1. He plans to take Major Wayne S. Aho, Director of Washington Saucer Intelligence, as an honorary passenger. Further information can be obtained by writing to OTC Enterprises, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland.

R. E. Straith Letter: The newsletter promises a future expose of a letter attributed to R. E. Straith, stating that it is not from any U.S. Government agency. The editor claims to have conclusive evidence to support this assertion, noting his connection with the U.S. Government.

MICAP and NICAP: Mrs. Rose A. Cambell, former assistant to Major Keyhoe and MICAP, has reportedly left the organization because Keyhoe refused to give equal investigation to "contact" reports. It is suggested that Mrs. Cambell will now campaign against NICAP. James Mosely, in SAUCER NEWS, published a controversial article predicting the fall of NICAP and CSI of New York by the end of the year.

Senator Goldwater: Senator Goldwater of Arizona is highlighted for winning his election. The newsletter expresses gratitude that a "Republican" (likely meaning a supporter of UFOs) is in Congress, as Senator Goldwater has publicly stated his belief in the reality of flying saucers.

George Hunt Williamson: Author George Hunt Williamson has completed a British lecture tour, including an audience with the Queen and Prince Phillip. The editor informed him of his wife Petty's death in Lima, Peru, on August 11. Williamson is expected to pick up his son from Indiana.

Dr. Lloyd V. Berkner: The editor interviewed Dr. Lloyd V. Berkner, who signed a document released by the AF stating that saucers were not hostile. Berkner clarified that this did not mean saucers existed, but rather that he believed them to be a natural phenomenon. He declined to comment on the panel that formed the document.

Propaganda and Monitoring

Radio Peiping Broadcast: A report from Radio Peiping is cited, claiming that a significant portion of Voice of America's broadcast time is dedicated to propaganda against Socialist countries. It further alleges that the Voice of America's programs are formulated by an "advisory council" composed of executives from industrial circles, representing "international bankers" like Morgan and Rockefeller. The newsletter notes that Associate Editor Dan Washburn is connected with the U.S. Information Agency (of which Voice of America is a part) and is expected to refute these claims.

Monitoring Radio Moscow and Peiping: The newsletter states that they are monitoring Radio Moscow and Peiping from Geneva and will publish transcripts of these broadcasts from time to time.

New Books and Publications

The Pentagon Case: A new book, "The Pentagon Case" by Col. Victor J. Fox, is noted as attracting attention and is in its second and third printings.

Atoms-For-Peace Conference: The editor attended the 2nd International Atoms-For-Peace Conference in Geneva, where he met dignitaries including Dag Hammerskjold and Lewis Strauss. Strauss reportedly stated that "flying saucers are BUNK!". The editor also met Bill Dye from the Farren Light Center, and they learned much at the conference, with plans to publish photographs in the next issue.

Subscription Changes: Effective immediately, THE UFOLOGER's subscription price is $3.00 for 6 issues, with single copies at 50¢. The "Reports from Geneva" are considered an extra service and are not included in this price.

New Address: The U.S. Resident Delegation in Geneva, Switzerland, is the new address for THE UFOLOGER. Old U.S. addresses are no longer valid.

World Wide Clipping Service: The next issue will feature a world-wide clipping service by Argus, providing comprehensive coverage of the saucer field.
