'UFO' Seen, Caught on Camera over Essex, UK Written by Leon Watson, this article presents a video sent in by Scott Sheppard from Colchester, Essex. Sheppard claims to have captured footage of a "craft," described as a golden ball of light, hovering about 100ft above the ground. He noted its bright orange-red color, quiet movement, and lack of flashing lights, which made him question if it was a plane. The object moved quickly away before he could fully capture it on his mobile phone.
Could Water be Link to Lancashire's UFOs? This article investigates a potential link between UFO sightings in Lancashire and the county's proximity to water. UFO investigator Pat Regan suggests a possible connection to the Ribble estuary. Regan also reported seeing a unidentified flying object alongside a funnel cloud over Scarisbrick. Theories explored include secret military aircraft testing and the use of large bodies of water for UFO propulsion or monitoring.
Photograph of UFO, Possibly Taken during Abduction The author recounts finding a fishing photograph from 1998 that appears to show a UFO over his left shoulder. He believes this image is connected to his experiences of abduction, which he states have occurred multiple times while fishing. The photo was taken on June 1, 1998, on Lake Baldwin in Southern Illinois, using a Pentax Zoom 90 WR camera. He asserts the UFO is part of the original negative and print, and that any claims of fakery can be disproven by examining the original materials.
Can Some UFOs be Explained by Sprites? This article explores the natural phenomenon of "sprites" – electrical discharges high in the atmosphere (35-80 miles altitude) triggered by thunderstorms. Geophysicist Colin Price explains that sprites are caused by a specific type of lightning. While visually similar to some UFO reports, researchers are investigating their cause and function. Sprites can appear as fast-paced balls or streaks of electricity and have been reported by pilots and astronauts. The article suggests that sprites might offer a natural explanation for some UFO sightings, providing solace to those disappointed by hoax explanations.
UFO Filmed Live by TV Station in Acre State, Brazil This report details a UFO sighting on February 9, 2009, in Rio Branco City, Acre State, Brazil, filmed by TV GAZETA. The object reportedly changed colors (white, red, blue), was visible with the moon and a star, and was observed by over 25 witnesses for more than two hours. It moved from east to south and then west. The report notes possibilities such as a kit with LEDs or a balloon, but emphasizes the witness testimony. Milton Dino Frank Junior, President of the Centro de Ufologia Brasileiro, submitted the report.
David Cameron: We Will Publish Secret UFO Files Conservative Party leader David Cameron is quoted as vowing to end government secrecy over UFOs and extraterrestrial activity if elected Prime Minister. He expressed a belief in freedom of information and openness regarding such matters. During a meeting, he was questioned about the Roswell incident and the possibility of alien contact. A member of the audience referenced Dr. Edgar Mitchell's claims of ongoing US government contact with extraterrestrials and the Roswell event. Cameron responded with a joke about Peter Mandelson being an alien life form, for which he later apologized.
UFO Photographed in San Diego Co., California This report describes a photograph taken on January 10, 2009, by Richard while hiking in San Diego County. The UFO appeared briefly, hovered, and vanished as the photo was taken. The image reportedly shows electrical discharge from high-power lines below the object. Richard notes he has seen other UFOs in San Diego, but this one was seen in daylight and was frightening.
UFO over Germany Official - says Air Traffic Control On January 19, 2009, German air traffic controllers tracked a mystery object moving at high speed across the country. Luftwaffe fighter pilots were scrambled, and the object was reported by multiple sources, including several airports placed on emergency standby. The DFS (Germany's air traffic safety office) is compiling a report, having ruled out conventional aircraft, weather balloons, and atmospheric conditions. The object eventually vanished from radar above Grafenwoehr, an area used by American troops, with no crash site found. DFS spokesman Axel Raab described it as a "complete mystery" that confused radar operators due to its intermittent appearance.
Unknown Object in Photograph from Utah This brief report describes a photograph taken on December 14, 2008, in Utah, where an object is visible in the top left corner. The photographer, Trevor, and his friend did not see the object at the time but noticed it in the developed picture.
More on the Mod Release This section discusses the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) releasing nearly 300 reports of possible UFO incidents from 2008. The MOD receives numerous requests for UFO information and introduced a system to handle these, releasing initial files in May 2008. The MOD's examination of UFO reports is solely to determine if UK airspace has been compromised by hostile or unauthorized military activity, not to investigate the existence of extraterrestrial life.
Thunderbirds a UFO! This article highlights an "amazing photo" of a "Thunderbird" flying above Bournemouth, taken by Mark Wild. The object is described as bright orange-red, resembling "Thunderbird 3." Mark Wild, a professional snapper, did not realize he had captured the object until reviewing his photos later. His girlfriend, Amanda Hickey, described the sighting as "real shock." The photo gained attention on the day The Sun reported that MOD UFO sightings had doubled. Ex-MOD worker and UFO expert Nick Pope called it "an amazing picture, one of the best I've seen in some time," noting its clear structure and classic UFO shape, unlike typical nighttime photos of vague lights.
Dr Steven Greer RADIO INTERVIEW - SETI has made ET contact This section announces an interview with Dr. Steven Greer of The Disclosure Project, a non-profit research project focused on disclosing facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and advanced propulsion systems. The project claims to have over 400 witnesses from government, military, and intelligence communities. The article mentions a May 9th, 2001, event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, where witnesses presented testimony and evidence to establish the reality of UFOs, extraterrestrial vehicles, and life forms.
Col. Charles Halt on Rendlesham incident This section details the Rendlesham Incident, with a report from Col. Charles Halt of the Department of the Air Force. On December 27, 1980, two USAF security police patrolmen at RAF Woodbridge reported seeing unusual lights and a "strange glowing object" in the forest. The object was described as metallic, triangular, approximately two to three meters across the base and two meters high, illuminating the forest with white light. It had a pulsing red light on top and blue lights underneath. The object hovered or was on legs, maneuvered through trees, and disappeared. Animals on a nearby farm reportedly went into a frenzy. The object was sighted again near the back gate about an hour later.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue revolve around UFO sightings, investigations, and potential explanations. There is a strong emphasis on witness testimony and photographic/video evidence, with several articles presenting cases from around the world. The magazine also touches upon government secrecy and the potential for official disclosure, as highlighted by the David Cameron statement and the MOD release. Natural explanations for UFO phenomena, such as sprites, are explored, suggesting a balanced approach to the subject matter. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry, presenting various cases and perspectives without definitive conclusions, encouraging readers to form their own opinions.
This document, titled "Michigan UFO Sightings Oct 1965" and authored by Dave Hodrien, was released on February 19, 2009. It details several UFO sightings, with a primary focus on two incidents that occurred in Michigan in October 1965, as reported by witness Pat Clements.
UFO Sighting, Early October 1965
The first major incident described took place on a Friday or Saturday night in early October 1965 in Northfield Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan. Pat Clements, then 15, was with his friend Rick Blackwood, his brother Greg, and Greg's girlfriend Maureen Phoenix (ages 15-17). They were driving along Pontiac Trail when they stopped to relieve themselves. While walking about 75 feet behind the car, Rick exclaimed, pointing to the sky. They saw a huge, "classic" flying saucer-shaped craft that was matt black and stationary, hanging silently in the air above their car. Pat, familiar with the area, estimated the craft to be 75 feet across and about 100 feet above the car. Pat described the craft as having "beautiful lines" and a "French curve" shape, with a row of rectangular blinking lights on the outer rim that fired off sequentially.
After several minutes, the craft moved away to their right at over 200 mph, executing sharp 90-degree turns without slowing down. Pat, a licensed pilot, noted that human pilots could not withstand such G-forces. Greg and Maureen also saw the craft. It then accelerated straight upwards at incredible speed, its bottom turning brilliant white as it burned through the atmosphere, with no sonic boom heard. Pat thought the underside resembled the old ECHO spacecraft. The report mentions that Frank Mannor, the son of a local farmer, claimed to have seen the craft land in a nearby field, and the author is attempting to contact him for an update.
Analysis of Early October 1965 Sighting
The analysis suggests the incident was a genuine sighting of an intelligently controlled, extraterrestrial craft due to its appearance, size, and movement patterns. The witnesses were convinced it was not a secret military craft. The object's complex manoeuvres and hovering over their car for minutes indicated interest. The object was too large and performed too complex manoeuvres to be a radio-controlled object, making it one of the most impressive cases documented. The lack of photographic evidence from the witnesses is lamented.
UFO Sighting, Late October 1965
Two weeks after the first sighting, Pat experienced another unusual event at his home in Brighton, Michigan. Around 7 pm, his mother became hysterical and called him to the back door. Pat saw a ball of white light in the sky to the west. Both went outside to observe it. The object grew massively in size, appearing as large as the sun, then shrank back to the size of a star. Pat believed it was moving towards and away from them rather than changing physical size, and it made no sound. After a few minutes, Pat contacted the Michigan state police, but they treated it as a prank call. Pat's sister Lori also witnessed the object. Suddenly, a squadron of jets from Selfridge Air Force Base appeared and approached the UFO. As the jets neared, the object shot away instantly, and the jets broke formation in disarray. Pat felt awestruck rather than threatened.
Analysis of Late October 1965 Sighting
This sighting is described as an extremely unusual object, likely a craft, supported by its rapid departure when jets arrived. The dispatch of jets suggests the object was out of the ordinary. While the object's appearance differed from the first sighting, a connection is possible, perhaps the object was checking on Pat. The close proximity of the two sightings within two weeks is noted as a coincidence. The object's intelligent and deliberate manoeuvres are highlighted, but its movement towards and away, and continuous size change, are bizarre and tend to disprove mundane explanations like balloons. The object appeared lit up and glowing white. The author wonders if it was a spiritual energy sphere, but its visibility to everyone suggests it was physical and likely detected by radar. The author plans to contact the air force base for information.
Reader Submits Two Sightings at Whaley Lake
Mary, a resident of Pawling, New York, shares two sightings from Whaley Lake. The first occurred in the mid-1980s during a fireworks display in Murrow Park, Pawling. She and her family saw a boomerang-shaped thing with multi-colored lights that hovered quietly before disappearing quickly. They were too afraid to mention it at the time for fear of being labeled weird.
The second sighting was in the summer of 2008, near the dam at the north end of Whaley Lake. Mary saw white lights, resembling headlights, gliding about 10 feet above the land. By the time others came out to see, the lights had moved into the woods. Several people confirmed seeing the lights, and they concluded it could not be a low-flying vehicle or ground vehicle due to the terrain. The object moved incredibly fast through dense trees and made no sound on a clear, still night. The homeowners near the dam found no disturbed ground or tracks the next day.
UFO lands in Milton Keynes: A lecture by Dave Hodrien
This section promotes a lecture by Dave Hodrien on a December 30, 2008, case in Bletchley, UK. The case involved a family experiencing unusual events, including multiple sightings of objects with unusual and intelligent manoeuvres, a potential landing site, 90 minutes of missing time, markings on a witness, possible spontaneous healing, and signs of abduction. The lecture will cover full details, video footage, and photographic evidence.
More on the Mod Release
This article discusses a Ministry of Defence (MoD) UFO dossier made public, revealing that the number of UFO sightings in the UK doubled in 2008. One incident involved a mystery object seen from the House of Commons. A witness reported a saucer-shaped craft 20 times the size of a plane. Nick Pope, who investigated UFOs for the MoD, found the House of Commons incident interesting. The dossier details sightings across the UK, including a bright orange/yellow light seen in Brightlingsea, Essex, a "huge disc-shaped object" seen in Rainham, Kent, a "jumbo jet sized object" over Leeds, an "alien craft" landing on a house in Bristol, and a silent V-formation of 59 lights above Lewes, East Sussex. The article notes specific dates with numerous sightings, such as June 12 and July 27, and directs readers to www.mod.uk for the full list of 2008 sightings.
UFOs Spotted over Barrhead
An article from the Paisley Daily Express reports on two separate UFO sightings in Barrhead, Scotland. A witness saw two luminous blue objects flying overhead silently and at speed, describing their bottoms as segmented and bright blue, with the nearest object appearing luminous red. Another sighting in Elderslie involved two orange objects flying high near Glasgow Airport, moving slowly but without landing lights. In Renfrew, two UFOs were spotted near the police station, emitting a bright, off-white light and remaining stationary for a significant period. UFO expert Brian Vike suggests aliens may be observing the area, and that sightings are becoming more common in Renfrewshire.
UFO Sightings above North Yorkshire Town
A Ministry of Defence UFO file reveals that Scarborough, North Yorkshire, was a hot-spot for alien visitors in 2008, with five sightings between early July and the end of August. Incidents included a cork-shaped object glowing like an angel, a white pea pod-shaped object, a fiery star shape, a black rectangular object that wobbled, and an orange circular object. Malton also reported sightings of white lights with fire inside, described as silent hang-gliders in formation. The MoD dossier is available online and includes sightings from across the UK, such as a craft with green, red, and white lights hovering over the Houses of Parliament.
Two Videos-Unknown Objects over San Antonio, TX-
Mario Vallejo reports two sightings from San Antonio, Texas, captured on video. The first, on January 30, 2009, involved a bright glowing object filmed while traveling southeast, appearing to have a force field, spinning, and accelerating. The second, on February 1, 2009, observed a reddish, glowing object traveling east at high altitude, spinning, accelerating, and fading in and out. Vallejo states these objects were clearly not aircraft, weather balloons, or satellites and offers the video for analysis.
Please shed a little (orange) light on this
Mrs J. Coburn from Deanshanger writes about a persistent, very bright orange light seen over Central Milton Keynes or to the southeast. It appears low and large, never moves, but suddenly disappears and reappears. She has discounted police helicopters and aircraft, finding it too big for stars or cranes. The light has been seen since early 2008, and she seeks an explanation.
Reader Submits Photo of Hubble-Unknown Object Also Seen
Rog shares a discovery made while searching for photos of the Hubble Telescope. He found an image with an unidentified object near the telescope. After digitally enhancing the photo, he observed a strange shape that was not immediately apparent.
Cartoons
The issue includes two cartoons. The first depicts a mushroom-shaped alien with a garbage can labeled "ZOG'S BIO-MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL, INC.," with the caption "How life on Earth really got its start." The second cartoon shows aliens in a UFO, with one saying, "WE'VE COME IN PEACE, BRINGING A CURE FOR CANCER, A SOLUTION TO GLOBAL WARMING AND... HEY, WHERE YOU GOING?" Another panel shows a headline "J.LO HAD TWINS!! J.LO HAD TWINS!!" with people reacting.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue are UFO sightings, witness testimonies, analysis of potential extraterrestrial craft, and government involvement or documentation of UFO phenomena. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry and reporting of unexplained aerial phenomena, presenting witness accounts and expert analysis without definitive conclusions, but leaning towards the possibility of genuine, non-conventional craft. The publication encourages reader submissions and aims to investigate and document these events.
This issue of a UFO-focused publication, dated July 2, 2009, presents a collection of articles detailing UFO incidents, historical connections, and statistical analyses of sightings. The content spans international reports, including a significant event in Greece, historical speculation regarding Renaissance art, and a statistical overview of Canadian UFO reports, alongside several UK-based witness accounts.
Greece: Amazing UFO Incident Involving Air Force and Airline
This article details a remarkable UFO incident that occurred over Athens on October 11, 2007. The captain of an Olympic Airways flight (flight 266) noticed an unusual, star-like object moving erratically. This sighting was corroborated by captains of other Olympic Airways flights and confirmed by Athens Airport control tower, whose employees observed the object moving towards Karystos. The Greek Air Force was contacted and confirmed visually monitoring the object from their radar station on Parintha Mountain. Staff described the UFO as large, of unusual shape, and very bright, traveling at incredible speed and not fitting the description of any terrestrial craft. Two F-16 jets were dispatched to intercept the object, but it shot skyward at incredible speed, evading identification. The article highlights a perceived deliberate cover-up by Greek authorities, with some government officials dismissing the incident as a mistaken sighting of Venus. The author questions the sanity of officials and criticizes the lack of coverage by Western media, suggesting a pattern of government denial regarding UFOs.
Did Extraterrestrial UFOs Influence Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, and Columbus?
This piece explores the speculative connection between extraterrestrial UFOs and prominent Renaissance figures. It suggests that UFOs might have influenced Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, and Christopher Columbus. Domenico Ghirlandaio and Carlos Crivelli are noted for painting flying saucer-like UFO images in their art. Leonardo da Vinci is credited with designing an armored car similar to a flying saucer and a flying machine aerial screw. Michaelangelo apprenticed under Ghirlandaio during a period when these artists were active in Florence, a cultural hub. Christopher Columbus is mentioned as having seen a 'light glimmering at a great distance' that vanished and reappeared. The article references specific artworks: Crivelli's 'Annunciation of St. Emidius' (1486) and Ghirlandaio's 'Madonna with Saint Giovaninno' (15th century), both featuring UFO-like imagery. Leonardo's armored car design (c. 1485) and flying machine concepts (c. 1500) are also discussed. The author posits that these artists, with their diverse knowledge, might have discussed UFOs and extraterrestrial civilizations, drawing a parallel to the idea that extraterrestrial visitors often make their presence known to influential figures.
UNEXPLAINED: Strange Lights over Leach Lane
This article reports on a sighting by Lee Caldwell in Sutton Leach, UK, on February 6, 2009. Caldwell, a stargazer, claims to have seen a 'weird red light' UFO flying low, describing it as moving fast, changing shape, and having a red glow, definitively not a plane or Chinese lantern. He also noted it looked like it had antlers. The report mentions other sightings in the borough, including a 'bowler hat' shaped object seen in January and four orange disc-like objects spotted in October. It also recounts a sighting by Stuart Welsby in Newton-le-Willows, who saw a 'glowing orange blob' on two consecutive nights, noting its lack of aviation lights and silence.
Record Year in Canada for UFOs
This section, authored by a staff writer, highlights that 2008 was a record year for UFO sightings in Canada, with 1,004 reports documented by Ufology Research, an independent, non-profit organization. This represents a 26% increase over 2007 and is described as 'unprecedented.' Ufology Research has been collecting data since 1989. Of the hundreds of reports in 2008, approximately 10% were labeled unexplained after review, with less than 1% classified as 'high quality unknowns.' Cases ranged from star-like lights to V-shaped craft. The article notes that while many photos and videos were posted online, most were identified as stars, planets, or aircraft. Typically, 2008 sightings involved two witnesses, were white in color, and lasted an average of 18 minutes. 'Flying saucers' were rare, with triangles and spheres being more common. A 20-year longitudinal study was expected later that year.
GREENWICH: Second UFO Sighting
This brief report details a UFO sighting in Greenwich, UK, on January 29, 2009. John Malkin reported seeing a strange light in the sky on both Saturday and Sunday nights. He described seeing an orange/yellow light moving quite fast towards the river. The report also references a previous sighting of two strange lights over Mottingham on Monday night and poses questions about whether people should be worried.
Pope's Star Watcher to Visit Nasa and Talk Aliens
This article announces a debate between Lynn Rothschild, an astrobiologist from NASA's Ames Research Center, and George Coyne, director emeritus of the Vatican Observatory, on the topic of extraterrestrial life. The event, titled 'Are We Alone? The Dance of the Fertile Universe,' was scheduled to take place at the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. The article notes NASA's long-standing search for extraterrestrial life and the Catholic Church's openness to the possibility, citing José Gabriel Funes, head of the Vatican Observatory, who conceded the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The piece touches on the theological implications for the Church, considering aliens' relationship with God and sin. It also mentions the lecture's cost and location at NASA's Ames Research Center.
Birmingham Police 2007-2008 UFO Sightings
This report by Dave Hodrien details UFO sightings witnessed by two Birmingham police officers, Martin and Sandra (names changed for privacy). The report covers multiple incidents, emphasizing the credibility of police officers as witnesses.
March 2007 Rome Sighting
While on holiday in Rome on March 31, 2007, Martin and Sandra observed a light grey oval-shaped 'cloud' that moved erratically, changed shape to resemble a tornado, became spherical, split into two smaller circular objects, and then reformed into one object before vanishing. The movements were described as controlled and unnatural, ruling out common explanations like balloons or meteors.
June 2007 Tamworth Sighting
In June 2007, Martin and Sandra spotted three metallic grey cigar-shaped objects in the sky near Tamworth. They were stationary, appeared large, and vanished simultaneously after about 10 seconds. Explanations like balloons were considered unlikely due to their simultaneous disappearance and apparent size.
August 2007 Kingstanding Sighting
Six people, including Martin and Sandra on duty in Kingstanding in August 2007, witnessed a bright orange orb of light. The object moved in a circular path, reappeared in almost the same position, and repeated the same manoeuvre. A photograph was taken by a colleague. The object vanished after a couple of minutes and did not reappear.
May 2008 Sutton Sighting
On May 1, 2008, Martin and Sandra observed a glowing light blue teardrop-shaped object in Sutton. It moved slowly, halted, flickered, and then released a smaller spherical object before both vanished. Explanations like meteors or fireworks were discounted due to the object's slow movement, ability to halt, and unusual shape.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue include the prevalence of unexplained aerial phenomena, the potential for government cover-ups or dismissals of credible sightings, and the historical and cultural implications of UFOs. The editorial stance appears to be one that takes UFO reports seriously, highlighting witness credibility (especially from professionals like police officers and pilots) and questioning official explanations that seem dismissive or inadequate. There is a critical view of Western media's lack of coverage and a suggestion that governments may be withholding information from the public. The issue also explores speculative connections, such as UFO influence on historical figures and art, indicating an interest in the broader context and potential impact of UFO phenomena beyond simple sightings.
This issue of BUFOG Mag, titled "Diary Of An Investigator," covers a period from November 2007 to February 2009 and focuses on UFO sightings and related phenomena, primarily in the Birmingham and Bradford areas of the UK. The magazine features witness testimonies, an investigator's personal diary, and discussions about the authenticity of various UFO cases.
Birmingham Incidents (June 2008)
The issue details a series of unusual incidents that occurred in the early hours of June 11th, 2008, across the Birmingham area. Martin and Sandra, along with a third officer, were called to investigate an alarm at David Lloyd Sports Centre. During this time, Sandra observed a bright white light in the sky, described as star-like but moving too fast for a plane, appearing high up and pulsating. Shortly after, a stationary white light appeared, vanished, and reappeared elsewhere. Martin then witnessed what appeared to be two shooting stars on the same path in quick succession.
Following these sightings, there were reports of a massive power cut in Kingstanding and Sutton. Numerous residents also reported their house alarms going off and seeing shadowy figures outside their homes, though descriptions were vague. Martin and Sandra were dispatched to an estate in Erdington where, during their investigation, the power went out, alarms sounded, and a loud explosion was heard nearby. This was potentially linked to a sub-station in Edmonton Avenue, Kingstanding.
Later, witnesses heard what sounded like underground explosions on Finchley Road, and observed a manhole cover being blasted into the air. The electricity board confirmed nine incidents in the local area that night, which was highly unusual. Martin and Sandra later experienced computer and internet issues, and their phone made automatic calls, which they believe may be linked to their experience or indicate monitoring.
The article questions whether these were unrelated incidents or connected, and ponders if the lights seen were satellites, space debris, or atmospheric phenomena, but notes the peculiar nature of lights appearing and disappearing.
October – December 2008 Birmingham Sightings
Since October 16th, 2008, Martin and Sandra have reported approximately thirteen sightings of strange objects in the sky, many similar in shape and form. They believe they are more aware of their presence. The first sighting on October 16th involved Sandra's dad reporting an unusual object over Birmingham. When viewed, it appeared as a bright star but was moving slowly west. Through binoculars, the object changed appearance, showing stacked blue, white, and red lights, then two white lights with a black band. The witnesses, being police officers, were confident it was not a conventional aircraft.
Subsequent sightings include an unusual object seen on October 28th near Sutton Coldfield, described as a stationary blue light with a smaller red light appearing, followed by two bright white lights moving in a wavy pattern. On November 12th, Sandra saw two glowing white lights, one brighter than the other, with one vanishing and reappearing elsewhere, suggesting teleportation.
On November 17th, while on duty in Erdington, they observed two bright white glowing objects moving slowly. Sandra took a photograph, which showed one object as a long curved line. On November 19th, Martin saw an orange orb of light with a red 'tail' structure moving in a curved path before disappearing. He was certain it was not a conventional aircraft, meteorite, lantern, or balloon.
On December 1st, in Tamworth, they observed a pulsing white orb of light and later two orange orbs, one estimated to be travelling at 300 mph and at an altitude of 2000-3000 feet. The objects appeared to communicate. Despite observing normal aircraft, the witnesses were sure the objects were unorthodox.
Family Sees 'Return' of UFOs at Home (February 2009)
This section reports on UFO sightings over Bradford. Kevin Brown, 57, and his family witnessed a glowing shape change colour and dart across the sky near their home in Kildare Crescent, Allerton. His daughter Laura recorded the event on her mobile phone. They had previously seen a similar object in October and on New Year's Eve. Kevin Brown described the object as spinning and not like a star. Richard Ing reported seeing a UFO pass over Bradford city centre in September. Clare Harris and friends spotted a flickering ball moving slowly across the sky above Low Moor on New Year's Eve.
Kevin Brown speculates that the aliens might be observing humans to learn about their culture.
Unknown Object in Photograph from China
This section describes an image taken at a remote monastery in China where there was no electricity. The object, not noticed at the time, was later spotted in a photograph. Enlarging the image revealed details suggesting a puff of smoke and atmospheric distortions, indicating downward motion.
UFO Researcher Paola Harris
UFO researcher Paola Harris expresses her belief in the authenticity of the Billy Meier and Gulf Breeze cases. She discusses the controversy surrounding Billy Meier's claims and photos, and the challenges of investigating such cases. She emphasizes the importance of thorough field investigations and criticizes the use of Photoshop solely for debunking.
Four Unknown Objects Photographed over California
On January 29th, 2009, Marla Davis photographed the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. Upon downloading her pictures, she discovered four oval lights in one photo, which she believes are not reflections. She submits the photo for analysis.
Unknown Object Photographed over Gettysburg, PA
Elizabeth Rettig Stafford from Virginia reports seeing an object in a photograph taken in Gettysburg, PA, on November 15th, 2008. She describes it as not resembling a chopper, plane, or blimp, noting it was fat and transparent. As a former Army member, she is familiar with helicopters and states Gettysburg is a no-fly zone.
Cigar-Shaped Object Videotaped over Burnham on Sea, UK
Video footage captured a cylinder-shaped object floating in the skies above Brean, near Burnham-On-Sea. Theories suggest it could be a UFO, a high-altitude observation balloon payload, or a large metallic shape. The video was shot in July.
Diary Of An Investigator (Dave Hodrien)
Dave Hodrien begins his diary, detailing his involvement with BUFOG, a UFO investigation group. He expresses his enthusiasm for the group's interactive magazine and his desire to share personal thoughts and experiences as a UFO investigator. He recalls joining BUFOG in late 2007 after finding their website and attending the first meeting in early 2008. He praises the group's organizers, Craig and Mark, for their efforts in arranging lectures and speakers, and describes the group as having great potential and being fun to be a part of.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue are UFO sightings, unexplained aerial phenomena, witness testimonies, and the investigative process. The magazine presents a strong stance in favor of the authenticity of many reported sightings, particularly those involving Martin and Sandra, and highlights the work of UFO researchers like Paola Harris. The editorial tone suggests a belief that these events are not easily explained by conventional means and that there may be a deeper, perhaps orchestrated, reason behind the increased number of sightings. The magazine encourages open-mindedness and thorough investigation, while acknowledging the skepticism and debunking efforts that often accompany such reports.
This issue of Ufology magazine, identified by its cover as issue 105.2 and dated September 2008, focuses on a variety of UFO sightings and related phenomena from around the world. The magazine features reports from multiple contributors, including Michael Cohen and Dave Hodrien, and covers incidents spanning from the late 1970s to early 2009. The content includes detailed witness accounts, photographic and video evidence analysis, and discussions on potential explanations and theories.
Argentina: Remarkable UFO Filmed with Multiple Witnesses
This report by Michael Cohen details a sighting near Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 24, 2009. Commuters witnessed a low-flying UFO that stopped and changed course instantly, exhibiting unusual lighting colors and remaining silent. One witness, Christian Soldano, captured the event on video. Sceptics suggested ball lightning, but ufologists noted the lack of similar evidence for ball lightning. The report links this incident to a sequence of UFO sightings involving lakes and dams in Argentina, suggesting these locations might be used by extraterrestrials for parking and concealing craft.
THREE pilots all clearly spotted the SAME alien craft.
This article, also by Michael Cohen, reports on an incident over Athens, Greece, that occurred over a year prior to its leak in the Greek media. On November 11, 2007, three airline pilots and Athens Airport control tower staff observed an extremely unusual object. The object was star-like, brighter and larger than Venus, with a constantly shifting shape. The Greek Air Force scrambled two F-16 fighter planes to intercept it. Air force radar stations also visually monitored the object, describing it as large, of unusual shape, and very bright. Despite the visual confirmation, radar picked up nothing. The object then shot off at incredible speed, evading the jets.
Breaking News: Possible Extraterrestrial Filmed in Peru: Video
Michael Cohen reports on a video from the Santa Rosa de Quives region of Peru, which might contain footage of an actual extraterrestrial, referred to as 'Quives Man'. The video has gained national attention in Peru. The area is considered holy, and UFO activity in South America is noted as increasing, with many believing in secret UFO bases near bodies of water. The report mentions that the Peruvian government and scientists are examining the video. The editor's note expresses skepticism, suggesting it might be a hoax, but invites reader opinions.
Large, Luminous Circle Spotted over Michigan
This account describes a sighting on February 15, 2009, in Michigan. While traveling, the witnesses observed a large luminous circle falling rapidly, which then stopped and traveled north. The object changed direction, hovered, and pulsated with a slight green color around its edges. The witness became afraid and left the area. His wife, initially a skeptic, was also trembling in fear. No camera was available at the time.
BUFOG KERRANG RADIO INTERVIEW
This section features an interview with Dave Hodrien, discussing a West Sussex Flying Triangle Sighting from September 2008. The witness, Andrew, was inspired by a radio show to go outside and believe he would see a UFO. He then observed a massive, nearly transparent triangular craft hovering silently over his house. The craft was estimated to be 150-200 feet wide and had no visible lights. Andrew felt elated and was asked if he wanted to go along with them, which he declined. The craft then accelerated away at incredible speed. Andrew believes UFOs are craft from the future and that extraterrestrials are evolved forms of ourselves.
Shrewsbury Summer 2000 Flying Triangles Sighting
Dave Hodrien reports on a sighting from the summer of 2000 in Shrewsbury, where two witnesses, Jamie and his father Steve, observed two 'classic' Flying Triangle UFOs. The craft were black with red lights and a blue haze, appearing translucent and extremely large. They moved erratically and silently, performing instantaneous maneuvers. Jamie believes these craft are secret military aircraft, drawing a parallel to the F-117A Stealth Fighter's delayed public reveal. The report suggests the possibility of extraterrestrial origin due to the craft's advanced capabilities and silent flight.
Selly Oak Dec 08 UFO Sighting
Dave Hodrien details a sighting by Steve Reece in Selly Oak on December 30, 2008. Reece observed two reddish-orange glowing lights moving slowly, which he initially mistook for aircraft but then realized were unusual. He estimated the lights were 200-300 feet high. Two identical objects appeared, following the same path, and then vanished. Later, two more lights appeared, moving faster and lower. The objects were silent and did not appear to have solid forms. The local airport reported no unusual activity. The report dismisses theories like Chinese lanterns, aircraft, and meteorites due to the objects' characteristics and behavior.
Gragg: Crop Circles Made by UFOs
This article by Bev Eckman-Onyskow covers a presentation by Dee Gragg, a MUFON field investigator, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Gragg argued that crop circles are created by UFOs, citing their rapid appearance and intricate patterns. He discussed the Roswell Incident, including radar tracking and a debris field. Gragg debunked mundane explanations for crop circles and presented examples of elaborate formations, such as the 'Julia set' and the 'Katherine Wheel', emphasizing their appearance in southern England. He stated that UFOs' ability to hover makes them uniquely qualified to create crop circles, which can appear and disappear by changing electromagnetic frequency. Gragg also teaches classes on UFO investigation and crop circles.
China: Mysterious UFO Seen by Physics Professor and Ufologist
Michael Cohen reports on a sighting by Zhang Shen, a physics professor and chairman of the Kunming UFO Research Association, on February 11, 2009. His wife observed a fiery orange glowing object streaking across the sky, which they captured on mobile phone. Mr. Shen described the captured image as a 'figure eight', attributing it to an optical illusion caused by the object's speed. He is certain it was not a terrestrial craft or comet. The report questions whether similar orange globes seen in the UK might also be genuine UFOs, or if Chinese lanterns are being used to confuse the public.
Three spherical objects over Olsztyn
This report by B. Zabielski and Piotr Cielebiaś describes a sighting in Olsztyn, Poland, on January 30, 2009. Marcin K. observed three spheres of light in a triangle formation moving slowly and maintaining distance. One object faded, and the triangle formation began to rotate. The spheres were estimated to be 50-70 meters above. The observation lasted 4-5 minutes, with the objects eventually disappearing. The witness estimated their size as 1/4 to 1/5 of the Moon's size, with a bright white color and reddish glow. He noted that despite a crowded street, only he focused on the objects.
Unknown Object Videotaped over St. Mark River, Florida
This account details a sighting on February 19, 2009, near St. Marks River, Florida. Three witnesses observed a very bright object hovering and moving slowly. The witness who took video described the object as morphing, changing from a small, solid mass to a large, semi-solid one, and emitting a strange sound. The video footage was enhanced, revealing a globe with a cloudy texture. This is noted as the third sighting the author is aware of in four years.
Hayes 1977-78 UFO Sighting
Dave Hodrien recounts a sighting from the late 1970s involving Dave Lee and two companions in Hayes, Middlesex. While skateboarding, they saw a bright white ball of light traveling very fast towards the moon. They watched in amazement as it appeared to orbit the moon and then emerge from the other side before vanishing. The sighting lasted less than five seconds. The witness's brother and friend dismissed it as imagination. The report considers possibilities like meteorites or satellites but questions how the moon orbit could be explained.
The Other Place...
This is a brief mention of an illustrated video compilation poem by Investigator Dave Hodrien.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue of Ufology magazine are UFO sightings, unexplained aerial phenomena, and the investigation of these events. There is a consistent focus on witness testimony, photographic and video evidence, and the analysis of object characteristics such as shape, speed, and silent flight. The magazine appears to lean towards the belief that many of these sightings are genuine and potentially extraterrestrial in origin, though it also acknowledges skeptical viewpoints and the possibility of misidentification or hoaxes. The editorial stance seems to be one of open inquiry, presenting various cases and encouraging readers to consider the evidence and draw their own conclusions, while also highlighting the work of ufologists and organizations like MUFON and BUFOG.
This issue of UFO & Paranormal Magazine, Volume 3, Issue 11, dated February 2009, published by Anomalous Phenomena, focuses on a variety of unexplained aerial phenomena and sightings. The cover prominently features the headline "West Midlands Police Helicopter in near-miss 1,500ft above public park," highlighting a significant incident.
A Message from the States
This section, attributed to Steve Tobias from the USA, questions the UK government's handling of UFO cover-ups. Tobias calls for public hearings to demand transparency regarding the release of UFO files, expressing skepticism about the completeness and speed of such releases. He suggests that formal logs of information have been regularly updated and that material is readily available to those in charge of intelligence programs.
Alien or Ghost?
Colin Foster from Wordsley, England, shares a photograph taken in North Yorkshire that he believes is extraordinary. While capturing many 'orbs' on his new digital camera during a trip with his ex-girlfriend, one particular photo of snow-covered fields revealed something remarkable upon zooming in. He describes it as 'completely overwhelmed' and states that friends and family are baffled. Foster wishes to have his mind put at rest and has included a photo of himself to prove the authenticity of his pictures. The photograph is dated 19/01/2009.
West Midlands Police Helicopter in near-miss 1,500ft above public park
This article details a dramatic incident where a West Midlands Police helicopter nearly crashed with a UFO over Birmingham. The incident occurred on a cloudless night while the police helicopter was conducting surveillance. An unidentified aircraft, described as small and beaming blue-green lights, came within 300ft, forcing the pilot to swerve. The object circled the helicopter before flying off. Initially dismissed as a model plane, further investigation by the pilot and observers, including thermal camera scans, found no signs of radio-controlled activity. The British Model Flying Association also ruled out model aircraft due to the altitude. UFO experts suggest alien forces were involved. The incident, which happened around 9:50 pm on May 2, was revealed in a document compiled by the Airprox Board. The report notes that radar operators saw nothing on their equipment. Nick Pope, formerly of the Ministry of Defence's UFO desk, favors a less complacent approach, calling it a disturbing incident that needs thorough investigation by the MoD and Civil Aviation Authority. The conclusion of the report is deemed unsatisfactory, especially given the close proximity to a collision. The incident occurred at 1,500ft. The article includes a 'Captain's Log' entry dated May 2, 2008, and a quote from Nick Pope stating, "It is a very interesting case especially when you look at the eyewitnesses. They are credible and reliable sources who have experience in night-time flying." He also emphasizes that the sighting raises important air safety issues.
AIRPROX REPORT No 055/08
This section provides a detailed summary of the Airprox report concerning the near-miss incident. The date and time were May 2, 2150, at position 5232N 00156W, 8nm NW of Birmingham (BHX). The airspace was Birmingham CTR (Class G/D). The reporting aircraft was an EC135 police helicopter operated by Civ Pol, at 1,500ft. Weather was VMC CAVOK with light wind. Visibility was over 30km. The pilot reported flying a routine night police surveillance task when the front observer saw unidentified lights. The pilot established visual contact at an estimated 100m, but it was difficult to judge the distance. The object circled, flew north, then returned. The pilot maneuvered to avoid collision. Thermal cameras were used to search for radio-controlled models, but nothing was found. The pilot believed the lights might have been from a radio-controlled fixed-wing aircraft, possibly for night flying, and that the intent could have been sinister or 'messing around'. Birmingham Radar saw nothing on radar, likely due to the object's small size. The ATSI had nothing to add. UKAB Note (1) confirms the pilot's cooperation and experience. All three crew members saw blue/green lights, and one saw an object behind them. NVGs were used, but 'blooming' prevented seeing the object for the rear observer. The RT recording verified the pilot's report to Radar, who stated no other contacts were in the area. The pilot discounted reflections from NVG lenses. UKAB Note (2) states that radar recordings showed the EC135 throughout, and the only other aircraft in contact with radar was a routine Birmingham CAT inbound flying well above. Several 'one sweep only' primary contacts were attributed to anomalous propagation. UKAB Note (3) details the contact with the British Model Flying Association, which deemed the object too high for a model. Investigations into UAVs, military flights, gliders, kites, balloons, and laser light shows ruled them out. Local GA airfields reported no night activity. The possibility of a civilian clandestine flight was considered unlikely. The report concludes that despite extensive tracing, the source of the lights could not be identified.
PART B: SUMMARY OF THE BOARD'S DISCUSSIONS
The Board reviewed the information and accepted the crew's sighting as accurate, despite a lack of supporting evidence. They were unable to offer an explanation for the source of the lights. The possibility of a clandestine flight was considered, but Members were not convinced. They agreed that the aircraft was likely small and non-metallic, as it was not displayed on radar. They concluded they did not have enough information to determine the degree of risk.
PART C: ASSESSMENT OF CAUSE AND RISK
Cause: An apparent conflict with an unidentified AC displaying non-standard lights.
Degree of Risk: D.
Unknown Object Videotaped over Chauvin, LA
This report from Chauvin, Louisiana, details a sighting of a bright, color-changing light in the sky observed during a 35-minute drive home. The witness filmed the object using a video function on their camera, noting that the batteries were low and only captured a couple of shots. The incident occurred around 6:45 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. The object did not appear to move but changed colors.
Hovering Lights... Did Church Warsop Woman See a UFO?
Published on February 23, 2009, by Tom Pegg, this article features Tina Pidduck from Church Warsop, who wonders if she saw a UFO. Her 13-year-old daughter, Chara, alerted her to 'strange rings of light' around 9:30 pm on a Friday. Initially skeptical, Tina later saw large beams of light in a circle pulsating outwards, lasting about half an hour. She is keen to find an explanation and urges anyone with information to come forward.
Tipton UFO Sighting Report
By Dave Hodrien, this report details a sighting by Sharon Demby in Tipton on September 16, 2008, at 2:30 pm. During a bright, still day, Demby observed a long, black/silver cigar-shaped object hovering completely still in the sky at an estimated couple of hundred feet. She took photographs of the object, which later changed its angle to vertical. After fifteen minutes, the object vanished. A second witness contacted the author, stating they had also seen and video-taped the same object around 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2008, suggesting Sharon Demby might have the date wrong.
Photographic Analysis
The report includes images of the object taken shortly after the first sighting and fifteen minutes later, showing changes in its angle. It also includes stills from video footage, illustrating the object turning slowly and remaining stationary in a vertical position.
Explanation
The article suggests the object was likely a Solar Airship, an 8-meter long inflatable, usually black, that heats up in the sun, lifting it into the sky. It is held by a tether line similar to a kite. The object is made of thin material, requiring only a thin tether. A photograph of a solar airship available from Argos for less than ten pounds is shown.
Figures
Figure 1 is a map showing the photographer's sighting location, the direction the object was seen, and nearby landmarks: a pub (The Shrubbery) and Tipton Cemetery. The author's conclusion is that witnesses likely saw a Solar Airship flown by someone from their garden in Tipton.
Amateur Astronomers, Bad Astronomy and UFOs
Written by Kevin Randle, this article discusses UFO sightings by amateur astronomers. It references two instances from the January 1974 issue of UFO Investigator. The first involves Terence Dickinson and five students in Rochester, New York, who observed five steady lights in a 'V' formation on October 24, 1973. The lights climbed higher and appeared as bright as Venus. The objects were estimated to be two miles away and at 10,000 feet. Richard Quick corroborated the sighting. Dickinson was a member of NICAP, and attempts to find a prosaic explanation with Dr. Stuart Appelle were unsuccessful, with NORAD and military authorities stating no aircraft were in the area.
The second report, from the December 1974 issue, details a sighting by Lee Gugliotto and James Paciello of Long Island on October 21, 1973. While looking for meteors, they observed a reddish light that approached them, appearing as a ball shape. It later showed a white glow replaced by three blinking lights (green, red, and white) not in a regular pattern. They followed the object until it faded. NICAP's investigator Diana Russell learned that others also saw the object and that small aircraft appeared like 'pin dots' in comparison. The witnesses, despite their interest in UFOs, did not immediately conclude it was an alien sighting.
The article notes that Marc Levine, Director of the Planetarium at Vanderbilt Museum, stated that if witnesses say something was there that did not belong, he would have to go along with them. Randle points out that these reports describe UFOs, not necessarily alien spacecraft, and that explanations from man-made to natural have been eliminated. He mentions the 1973 date was during the 'occupant' wave of UFO sightings. Randle argues that amateur astronomers do see UFOs, and while not all are alien spacecraft, they are strange objects with no apparent earthly explanation. He hopes Phil Plait will concede that amateurs report UFOs, even if they haven't reported an alien ship.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The magazine consistently explores UFO sightings, near-miss incidents, and unexplained aerial phenomena. There's a recurring theme of official investigations and the challenges in finding definitive explanations, as seen in the West Midlands Police helicopter incident and the Tipton Solar Airship case. The publication also revisits historical UFO reports, particularly those involving amateur astronomers, suggesting a continued interest in uncovering the truth behind these events. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry, presenting evidence and witness accounts while acknowledging the difficulties in reaching conclusive explanations, and encouraging readers to consider various possibilities, including the extraterrestrial hypothesis, while also exploring more mundane explanations like the Solar Airship.
This issue of UFO DATA MAGAZINE, dated Jan/Feb 2008, features a cover story titled "Unknown Object Photographed Below Crest of Niagara Falls!" by Dirk Vander Ploeg. The magazine includes a variety of articles detailing UFO sightings, witness testimonies, and discussions on government knowledge and paranormal events.
Niagara Falls Sighting
The lead article by Dirk Vander Ploeg recounts an email received on January 21, 2009, from a witness named Darryl, who photographed an unexplained object over Niagara Falls, Canada, on June 2, 2008. Darryl was staying at the Fallsview Casino and took photos of the falls. He later noticed an object in the right side of a photo, hovering over the basin of Horseshoe Falls. He spoke to a helicopter pilot who stated that a copter of that size would not survive the turbulent conditions near the falls. Darryl enhanced the photo and noticed a "right angle probe" jutting out of the object. The object was not recognized until uploaded to his computer. Niagara Falls Helicopters are mentioned as offering tours of the region.
UFO over Scotland
An article by Fiona Howard describes a sighting by Lewis Graham, a graphic artist from Helensburgh, Scotland. On a Monday morning, Graham saw a fiery red object that he initially thought was a plane on fire or an asteroid. He described it as silent, with a single red light, and nearly 100% cloud cover. The object remained stationary over Cardross before dimming and vanishing. Graham, previously a sceptic, now believes it was a UFO. He reported his sighting to the UK UFO Sightings website and found similar reports.
Italy: Air Force Head Says UFOs Possibly ET Craft
Written by Michael Cohen, this article discusses the increasing number of UFO sightings in Italy and the media attention they are receiving. The Italian Air Force has recorded 38 sightings of UFOs since 2001, with three significant sightings in 2008. These include a spherical white object with a red halo over Teresina, an irregular object that changed shape in Riccione, and a glowing red sphere also seen in Riccione. Roberto Di Giorgio, head of general security for the Italian Air Force, stated that these cases have no immediate explanation and that the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence cannot be ruled out. Other incidents mentioned include a pilot reporting a white spherical UFO and a civil airline noticing a black object following it.
Stechford Jan 2009 UFO Sighting
Authored by Dave Hodrien, this piece details a multiple-witness sighting in Stechford, UK, towards the end of January 2009. Around 11 pm on January 27, witnesses saw a reddish-orange sphere of light heading towards them. The object was silent, appeared high up, and was larger than a star. It moved slowly and appeared to follow the witnesses. The sighting lasted approximately ten minutes. No photos or video were taken. The witnesses were distressed, feeling the object was watching them. While Chinese Lanterns were suggested as an explanation, the object's ability to stop, start, and change direction at will suggested otherwise. Helicopters and aeroplanes were also ruled out due to lighting and maneuverability.
Most Profitable UFO Sighting in Tennessee History
Written by Eddie Middleton, this article discusses a 1977 event where the National Enquirer awarded $7500 to five Memphis police officers for the most important UFO sighting of the year. The article mentions the credibility of the witnesses, including the dean of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Washington University. The sighting involved a solid black, slender isosceles triangular craft hovering at treetop level over a community golf course. The object was described as having a spectral phantom of the night, with a powerful red-flared trunk.
Government Knowledge about Aliens
This article explores the possibility of government knowledge regarding UFOs and alien encounters. It mentions a 1988 incident in Puerto Rico where witnesses saw US warplanes interacting with huge alien aircraft. The article discusses theories of government-alien relationships and abductions for technological secrets. It notes that the US Department of Defense no longer officially deals with UFOs, now termed Uncorrelated Targets (UCTs). The history of 'Operation Blue Book' is recounted, highlighting its 'openness' as a front and the criminalization of revealing UFO details. Josef Allan Hynek, a scientific consultant for Blue Book, is mentioned as having become an informed believer. The article also touches on the UK's Ministry of Defence policy, which only investigates sightings of 'defence significance'. The struggle for British investigators to access old files is contrasted with the US Freedom of Information Act, though a lawsuit by 'Citizens Against Unidentified Flying Objects Secrecy' against the NSA is mentioned.
Out of this World - Family Report Three UFO Sightings
This article details three UFO sightings experienced by a family in St Helens, UK. Michael Simpson, a nightshift worker, saw a strange floating object. His mother and uncle had also witnessed a similar mysterious 'orange light' over St Helens in previous weeks. Michael's encounter occurred around 4:30 am on January 21, near the Waterside pub. He described the object as 'bowler-hat-shaped' with flames protruding from the center and red lights on the sides and top. He filmed the object with his mobile phone but had forgotten to activate the 'night mode'. The article also mentions a separate sighting over Chester, Virginia, reported by Sheila B., who has frequently seen spinning light objects with colored lights since August 2008 and captured one on video.
UFOs 'Buzz' Two U.S. Military Bases
This report by Roger Marsh describes UFO activity near US military bases in Arizona and Texas. In San Antonio, Texas, on February 22, witnesses saw a bright white object, described as a square with pointed corners and concave edges, spinning as it descended towards the ground near Fort Sam Houston. In Arizona, on February 23, a witness near Luke Air Force Base saw two pulsating, bright lights that blinked off when five fighter jets approached, suggesting the jets were chasing the lights.
The Day The Earth Stood Still Review
This is a review of the 2008 film "The Day The Earth Stood Still" by John. The reviewer discusses the casting of Keanu Reeves as Klaatu and the mixed reactions to it. The synopsis describes Klaatu's mission to warn Earth of planetary destruction if peace is not achieved. The reviewer found Reeves to be a suitable fit for the character. The visual effects, particularly a 'cloud' evaporating everything, are praised. The film's opening minutes are described as effective in creating mystery. The review concludes that the movie is enjoyable in places but also painful, giving it a 5 out of 10 rating. A notable quote from the film is "If the earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives".
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The recurring themes in this issue revolve around unexplained aerial phenomena, witness testimonies, and the potential for government secrecy regarding UFOs. The magazine presents a range of sightings from different locations, including North America, Europe, and the UK, suggesting a global interest in the topic. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry, presenting witness accounts and investigative details without necessarily endorsing definitive conclusions, often leaving cases as mysteries. There is an emphasis on the credibility of witnesses and the detailed descriptions of observed phenomena. The inclusion of a film review and information on paranormal conferences indicates a broader interest in the unexplained and speculative topics.
This issue of UFO Magazine, with a cover date of May 2009, presents a compelling eyewitness account of an unexplained aerial phenomenon. The magazine is designed and produced by Craig Lowe, with contributions from Craig, Mark, and Dave.
Eyewitness Account: Arizona Sighting
The central piece of this issue is a detailed narrative from a witness in Arizona, dated February 23, 2009. The witness, who identifies as being in their mid-twenties, educated, and intelligent, describes an experience that was unlike any conventional aircraft or 'shooting star' they had encountered, even in a city environment with light pollution. They emphasize the complete absence of sound, which they found particularly noteworthy given their familiarity with military aircraft noise.
The object initially appeared as two intense red lights that were pulsating and stationary. After about five minutes of motionless pulsating, one light flickered out, and 4-5 smaller lights became evident in its place. The phenomenon occurred rapidly, with the object disappearing and reappearing in a split second at a much lower altitude and a significant distance away.
Adding to the intrigue, the witness reports that shortly after the lights appeared, five fighter jets from Luke Air Force Base flew towards the object. As the jets approached, the lights blinked off. The witness observed that one or two of the jets circled the area, and then the entire formation stormed off south, seemingly in pursuit.
The witness expresses regret for not having a video camera or cell phone to capture the event, noting that the entire incident happened too fast, within approximately 10 seconds, leaving little time to react.
Editorial Notes and Future Releases
The editorial team expresses their enjoyment in producing the magazine and anticipates the return of their readers for the next edition, which is scheduled for release in May 2009. The issue concludes with a thank you from Craig, Mark, and Dave.
Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance
The primary theme of this issue is a direct eyewitness report of a potential UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) sighting, focusing on the details of the visual observation, the lack of sound, and the subsequent military response. The editorial stance appears to be one of presenting credible witness testimony and encouraging further investigation, as evidenced by the detailed account and the magazine's continued publication in the field of UFO research. The mention of the 'Phoenix lights in 97' suggests a connection to historical or well-known local UFO events, implying a broader interest in the subject's history and patterns.
