MUFON investigators and the Sheriff's department examined the scene, sending soil samples for analysis. Preliminary reports ruled out meteorites and lightning strikes due to the precision of the configuration.

Corsica, PA Sighting

Two unidentified flying objects were reportedly spotted along Interstate-80 near Corsica, Pennsylvania. A family of five described a craft that was not a helicopter or blimp, with no propellers or wings, and appeared to be guided. It was observed moving at an estimated 40-50 mph at an altitude of about 1,000 feet. A couple from Shippenville also reported a similar incident near the Corsica interchange, describing an object like an airplane with a bright light.

South African Reports

Several reports from South Africa detail UFO sightings:

• Knysna: An unidentified flying object was seen over Knysna, described as a flaming warhead, very big, bright, and lit from the front. It flew at great speed and disappeared into thick cloud. Witnesses noted its soundless, steady flight and vast size, unlike any known aircraft. The object was also described as flattish and much bigger than usual aircraft.
• Gonubie: Mrs. E. M. Oliver reported seeing a bright, moving unidentified object at 1:30 a.m. that kept moving and hovering. It was described as definitely not a star or a plane.
• East London/Transkei Border: A luminous object trailing a tail of fire was seen moving across the sky. Officials were unable to explain the phenomenon.
• Ficksburg: Several people reported seeing a large object with a long tail travelling fairly low over the Southern horizon.
• Port Elizabeth: Businessman Mr. Alan Johnson and Mr. Bob Sonderup, along with dozens of others, witnessed a brilliantly lit UFO over the city. They described it as cone-shaped with port holes and an illuminated tail, moving at a moderate speed at an estimated height of 500 meters. This was the second such sighting in a week.
• Cape Argus: Reports from Grahamstown describe UFOs swooping over the town, with residents hoping to see them again. A senior traffic inspector described a cone-shaped object with a brilliant green front and a progressively lighter color towards the back.

Canadian Reports

• Nelson, B.C.: Two young observers, Phil Doubt and Shawn Olszewski, reported seeing a white object flashing red while camping. It moved from the southern sky to a point above the north star and hung there for about an hour.
• Hamilton, Ontario: A Hamilton man claimed to have seen a mysterious apple-shaped object fly over the city with a tail like a comet.

Italian Sighting

• Pavia, Italy: An unidentified flying object was sighted for 10 minutes, described as hemispherical with an intense yellowish light that later became red. Police found traces of burning at the reported landing location.

Byrne believes they are "closing in" on finding a Sasquatch, citing "solid information."
• Roseburg, Oregon: Mrs. Jean Fitzgerald of Roseburg claims to have seen Big Foot on two occasions while camping at Lake-of-the-Woods. She described two monsters, one seven feet tall and the other eight feet, with chests four feet across. She noted their upright posture and the presence of a raven that accompanies one of them. Mrs. Fitzgerald believes the creature is humanoid and not a bear, comparing it to a giant gorilla. She expressed a desire to photograph the creature rather than harm it.

Edwardsville Office Phenomena

Office personnel in Edwardsville, Illinois, have reported a series of unexplained occurrences, including framed pictures flying off walls, a filing cabinet pitching forward, and an electric eraser unplugging itself and shooting across the room. Engineers are investigating, with psychokinesis suggested as a possibility.
