Observations
Slagelse, Denmark - March 25, 2002
A detailed account is given by an individual who, with their 9-year-old grandchild, observed a flying object near Slagelse. The object displayed unusual behavior, moving sideways and hovering, and was distinguished by multiple, varied lights unlike those of an airplane. Using binoculars, the object was seen to have a distinct, almost hexagonal shape with a rounded top, illuminated by a sharp white light and flashing multi-colored lights. The observer's daughter was asked to contact her brother to witness the phenomenon, but by the time he went outside, the object had disappeared. The article encourages readers to submit their own observations via the provided link.
Belgium - December 2001
This section reports on the return of triangular UFOs in Belgium in December 2001. A police officer observed two triangular objects with blue lights on December 6th and again on December 9th, noting similarities to sightings during the well-known Belgian UFO wave of 1989-90. Additionally, on December 15th, a woman in Mont-a-leux described an "impressive object" that passed overhead before vanishing. Further information on the 1989-90 Belgian UFO wave is available via a provided link.
Lecture Announcement
"Are UFOs - Myth or Reality?"
Ole Henningsen will give a lecture on UFO phenomena at Halstedhus Efterskole in Halsted, near Nakskov, on Thursday, April 4th, at 7:30 PM. The lecture is free and open to all interested individuals. Henningsen's presentation will feature local UFO observation reports and Danish UFO photographs. He has spent over 40 years researching UFOs and astronomical phenomena. His lecture will also touch upon the connection between UFOs and the search for extraterrestrial life, and briefly address crop circles, demonstrating how they can be created using simple methods. The lecture aims to provide a balanced and serious insight into UFO phenomena.
The lecture is organized by Lollands Astronomiske Forening, whose members meet on the first Thursday of each month at Halstedhus Efterskole.
Astronomy Section
ISS Visible in the Sky
The International Space Station (ISS) is once again visible in the Danish evening sky. It appears as a bright star moving from west to east and can be seen with the naked eye. The article provides specific viewing times for the ISS from Denmark for April 2nd to April 5th, 2002, noting that its visibility depends on the orbit's proximity to Denmark, darkness, and the angle of the sun on its solar panels. The ISS disappears when it enters Earth's shadow. More detailed observation data is available at www.tycho.dk. No UFO observations related to the ISS have been reported to Skandinavisk UFO Information.
Evening Sky in April
Four planets – Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter – are visible in the western sky during April evenings. On Sunday, April 14th, the thin crescent of the new moon will be visible shortly after sunset, near Venus. Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter will appear higher in the sky. The moon will also pass near Mars on April 15th and occult Saturn on April 16th. The article mentions that such celestial alignments can sometimes lead to public wonder and UFO reports. It also discusses the planet Venus, often nicknamed the "UFO queen" due to past misidentifications. An example is given of a 1976 UFO alarm at the Apex nuclear power plant in North Carolina, where a bright object observed daily was eventually identified as Venus. The article notes that Danish police have also reportedly mistaken Venus for a UFO.
Reader Contributions and Subscription
Readers are invited to submit news or interesting links for potential inclusion in future issues. Submissions can be sent to Skandinavisk UFO Information - SUFOI. The newsletter encourages readers to forward UFO-mail to their contacts to expand its reach.

This issue of UFO-mail adopts an informative and educational stance, aiming to present UFO phenomena and related astronomical events in a balanced manner. It encourages reader participation through observation reports and submissions. The editorial focus is on providing factual information and debunking common misidentifications, such as mistaking the planet Venus for a UFO, while still acknowledging the existence of unexplained phenomena and encouraging serious investigation. The newsletter serves as a platform for disseminating information within the Danish UFO community and beyond.
Det var fantastisk at se objektet i kikkerten, da det helt tydeligt trådte frem i denne form.
Key Incidents
A 9-year-old child and their grandparent observed a flying object with multiple, differently behaving lights, described as hexagonal in shape, which could fly sideways and hover.

A strong, luminous object observed near the Apex nuclear power plant was identified as the planet Venus, causing a brief UFO alarm.
