'Kidnappning i Botucatú, Brasilien' (Kidnapping in Botucatú, Brazil) by Irene Granchi details the case of João Valério da Silva, who was allegedly abducted on November 29, 1982. Valério, a 38-year-old married man with three children, experienced severe stomach pains and went outside. He was then blinded by a bright light, and a platform descended. He was taken into a craft by two humanoids, described as about 1.90 meters tall, wearing silver jumpsuits. Inside, he encountered another being and a female figure. The humanoids communicated with each other but were not understood by Valério. He was made to sit on a circular bench. The beings then left the room by passing through a wall. A woman, described as dark-skinned, about 20 years old, with long black hair, and very beautiful, entered the room in a similar manner. She approached Valério with a Y-shaped instrument and touched his left cheek, after which he lost consciousness.

Valério was found naked by his wife and daughter around 5:00 AM, about four meters from the washbasin. He was covered in a substance described as oil, and had a round mark on his chest with strange sores, along with light sores on his penis. His watch, which had stopped at 04:20, was found with his belongings. The oily shirt was later sent to the São Paulo police for analysis.

Dr. Luciano Stancka e Silva, who investigated the case, noted that the wounds on Valério's chest had not healed, which was unusual for superficial injuries. He also examined a tree near where Valério was found, noting that its leaves were partially burned. An agronomist confirmed that the damage was not caused by ordinary fire. Dr. Luciano's background check revealed Valério to be a religious man with no criminal record, leading him to question why Valério was targeted. The report also mentions poltergeist phenomena occurring in Valério's house before the abduction, including gas flames igniting spontaneously and objects moving. These phenomena ceased after the abduction.
