Later that morning, her son reported seeing something similar around 3:30 AM, describing it as a "big ball of light that dimmed out and became transparent." He watched it for several minutes before it disappeared. Michigan Sighting Complete With "Lasers." This report from Stanton, Michigan, details a sighting by Becky on October 15, 2001. While driving at 12:30 AM, she noticed a lighted object stationary in the northeastern sky. It was larger and lower than a star or plane, with a bright, misty haze. Suddenly, flashes resembling red laser beam lines appeared, contained within a circular area around the object. These lines did not shoot across the sky but formed a jagged circular pattern around a white, hazed object. Becky described the area as a "circle within a circle." She felt frightened and returned to town. After observing the object for another five minutes, it ascended vertically, and its light became clearer. Upon returning home, Becky discovered a red circular patch on her throat, which she attributes to the sighting.

Missouri Three Lights Shaped Like a Pyramid Reported by Peter Davenport from Kennett, Missouri, this sighting occurred on October 7, 2001. The witness observed an object with three lights: one at the top and two at the bottom. The right bottom and top lights disappeared first, followed by the left bottom light. The object was low and seemed to hover before moving away. Loud music playing at the time prevented any sound from being heard. The witness believes it was something strange.

Iowa Rectangle This report from Ottumwa, Iowa, describes a sighting on October 10, 2001, at 9:15 PM. Witnesses saw a square-shaped object with two blue corners on the left and two red lights on the right corners, with a white or yellow light in the center. The object was visible only by its lights against the pitch-black sky. It appeared stationary, and when a passenger rolled down a window for a better look, the object took off heading west at high speed and vanished instantly. The witnesses noted it was not a helicopter and did not make noise, unlike planes which do not hover in one spot above trees. The case was forwarded to Beverly Trout of MUFON SD of IA for investigation.
