UFO Update: Dulce Mesa - Immigrant Gap - Area 51

This section previews a meeting on Sunday, September 12, featuring a video tape by Shawn Morton. Morton, an investigator who has worked on shows like 'Unsolved Mysteries' and 'Sightings', will present information from his investigations. The video tape is described as a small part of his findings but will offer new and startling information. The presentation is divided into three parts:

1. Investigations with scientists and others regarding underground installations in Dulce Mesa, located near the four corners area southwest of Durango, Colorado.
2. UFO activities in Immigrant Valley and Mt. English in California, southwest of Lake Tahoe, including investigations into a reported alien base.
3. A video of activities at the top-secret military reserve in central Nevada known as Area 51, revealing facts not generally known about alien research there. The tape was loaned by Bruce Widaman of the St. Charles research committee group.

June Picnic Features Millboro Report

Authored by Marge Myers, Rec. Secretary, this report details a successful picnic with plentiful food and a fascinating topic. Bob Carter presented a report on the book 'Mission to Millboro' by Dr. Marge Rieder, a hypnotherapist from Lake Elsinore, CA. The book explores the story of people who believe they lived near each other over 125 years ago in the town of Millboro, Virginia, in a previous life. While reincarnation is a concept many do not accept, the report suggests that numerous stories support its possibility and encourages an open mind. The case of Bridie Murphey in the 1950s is cited, where hypnosis revealed a past life in 1800s Ireland. The detailed information provided led Bernstein, her neighbor, to research the claim, finding strong evidence that prompted Dr. Rieder to write her book.

Dr. Rieder's study involved approximately 30 people who purportedly lived in Millboro in 1861 and knew each other then and now. She conducted group hypnosis sessions, finding the interactions between subjects to be so compelling that she decided to write the book after extensive research.

One subject, who worked in security, regressed to a time when he had just graduated from West Point at the outbreak of the Civil War. As a Southern boy, he fought for the Confederacy. Research at West Point uncovered a picture of this graduate, whose face remarkably resembled the gentleman who claimed to be him in a past life. This Confederate soldier officer was wounded and sent to Millboro, where he served as a spy.

Dr. Rieder and some subjects later visited Millboro. In a walking hypnosis state, they were regressed to their past lives. They identified buildings and places previously described, including a house with underground rooms featuring heavy timbered ceilings and green concrete walls, and a tunnel leading to a creek used as an underground railroad for smuggling wounded Union soldiers and escaped slaves. They also located a railroad tunnel where Confederate soldiers had planned to place dynamite charges to blow it up if the town was overtaken by Union forces.

During a subsequent research trip to Millboro, Dr. Rieder and others contacted the property owner where the house once stood. Excavation revealed underground rooms and a tunnel matching the descriptions. They also found the railroad tunnel with evidence of planned dynamite placements.

Bob Carter also played an audio tape of an interview with Dr. Rieder, who spoke with Scott Coburn, a radio host in Lincoln, NE, discussing paranormal events and MUFON news. Dr. Rieder's book, 'Mission to Millboro', is out of print. She is currently researching a sequel and can be contacted at 300 N. Ellis Street, Suite 26A, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530.

Missouri UFO Happenings

This section, courtesy of 'Amateur Ufology News' from Lockwood, MO, presents brief summaries of recent UFO experiences in Southwest Missouri, noting a continuing wave of UFO activity across the Ozarks region.

Beverly Simpson of rural Barton County reported being awakened by a bright, pure white illumination originating from above her house. She felt perplexed and chose not to look, stating, "I just didn't want to see them." She could not detect any sound, and the silence was disturbing. Beverly is described as a strong, self-sufficient individual, making her reaction out of character. She has had previous experiences, including rectangular lights in March, yard illumination in May, a mutilated pig in June, and an odd humming sound permeating her neighborhood in 1992. These four incidents within a year suggest more than coincidence. Beverly has agreed to help arrange interviews with neighbors.

A farmer named Ted in Lawrence County near Pierce City saw a bright, half-moon-shaped light near his barn. The object moved slowly over a valley and then stopped. Binoculars revealed it had disappeared. There were no animal reactions.

Near Lockwood, a woman observed a low-flying UFO with bright halogen-type lights at 3 AM. It followed the contour of the road about a mile from town, approximately twenty feet above the gravel roadway. The object hovered and swung a spotlight beam across a wooded area for several minutes before disappearing. All normal sounds ceased during its presence.

Random Notes

Submitted by Marvin Czarnik:

Mars Observer

NASA has lost contact with the Mars Observer spacecraft. Speculation exists about its fate, with one option being to allow it to orbit the sun and return to Mars in 18 months. Previously, the spacecraft was scheduled to transmit imagery of the Mars surface in October or November. CBS was planning a two-hour special on Mars featuring Richard Hoagland in September, which might be rescheduled due to the Mars Observer's status.

Miscellaneous

HBO is producing a movie dramatizing Kevin Randall and Donald Schmitt's book 'UFO Crash at Roswell'. The film's release will coincide with a new book by the authors, which reportedly rewrites the events of 1947 in Roswell, NM.
