Kallelse och dagordning (Call and Agenda)

The newsletter announces the monthly meeting for Sunday, March 7th, at 5:00 PM at the club house Ulunda 8. The agenda includes opening the meeting, approving the agenda, previous meeting minutes, reports, new business, new members, a coffee break, and a screening of the documentary film "UFO's are real" (original title, Swedish title "Varning UFO-siktat", subtitled in Swedish, runtime approx. 1.5 hours), followed by closing remarks.

OBS-evenings (observation nights) are scheduled for various dates throughout the year, with a meeting at the club house at 8:00 PM for those wishing to participate in these excursions.

Styrelsen (The Board)

The section "Hej allesannan" (Hello everyone) provides information from the board. It reports that most of the board members were re-elected for 1982: Arnold Idebring as chairman, Ivar Karlsson as treasurer. Other board members include Jörgen Granlie, Lars Brundin (also secretary), Lennart Eriksson, Georg Lundvall, and newly elected Bertil Medin. The election committee consists of Maj-Lia and Bengt Eriksson. Revisors are Taga Karlsson and Bengt Eriksson. The coffee committee is Elvira Idebring, and the liaison officer is AAre Laine. Arnold Idebring will represent the organization at the national meeting, with AAre Laine and Ivar Karlsson as deputies.

The board was constituted on February 16th, with Jörgen Granlie as vice chairman (1 year), Lars Brundin as secretary (2 years), Lennart Eriksson and Bertil Medin as board members (2 years), and Georg Lundvall as a board member (1 year).

Lars Brundin continues as librarian, and Lennart Eriksson as the responsible investigator.

Upcoming Events and Information

The UFO-Sverige national meeting will be held in conjunction with a planning conference in Lersäter on April 23rd-24th. More information will be in the next issue, expected around March 30th.

Tentative meeting dates until December are listed: March 7th, April 4th, May 9th. The Mälarträffen is planned for June 5th-6th. After a summer break, meetings resume on September 5th, October 3rd, and November 7th. A Christmas party is possible on December 12th. A get-together in week 33 (August) has also been discussed. Members are reminded that dates may change but they will be informed via the newsletter.

Starting March 1st, the Enköpings UFO-förening will be solely responsible for their shared premises, which represents a larger financial commitment.

Membership Fees

An payment slip for the 1982 membership fee is included. The fees remain the same as the previous year: Family membership is 50 SEK (for families with children under 16), individuals aged 16-20 pay 15 SEK, and individual members pay 30 SEK. The deadline for payment is March 31st. Membership offers participation in a "fine community."

UFO-Sverige Aktuellt and Library

Members are encouraged to subscribe to UFO-Sverige Aktuellt through the organization. The UFO library is available for members to borrow books for free.

Härnevi UFO Sighting

An account is given of an experience involving Pelle and a trip to Härnevi. A family shared several UFO-related stories. The daughter, about 15 years old, witnessed an object described as a "glowing fox" that came up from behind a hill, flew over a road, and landed on a neighbor's tent, leaving a large crater. The object's description and the existence of the crater are noted.

"Ivars Spalt" (Ivar's Column)

Ivar, the treasurer, writes about the passage of time and his bees. He recounts a trip with Pelle to Härnevi where they bought ski equipment. During this outing, he met a family who recognized his UFO-E membership badge. They shared UFO experiences, including the sighting described above. The family suggested contacting their grandfather, who had made many interesting discoveries. Ivar may visit him and report in a future UFO-Aktuellt issue. He also mentions that several people might become members of UFO-E due to their interest.

UFO-Elamullströja (UFO Wool Sweater)

A UFO wool sweater is available for purchase in an Enköping shop for 74.50 SEK (originally 149 SEK).

Membership Fee Reminder

Ivar reiterates his plea for members to pay their 1982 membership fees before March 31st, noting that the payment slip is included in the newsletter.

There is speculation that notable figures like Greta Garbo or Reck-Olga might visit a monthly meeting.

Frågelåda (Q&A Box) - Tysta Jakep

Question: What is the Mälarträffen and what is its purpose?
Answer: The Mälarträffen is a relaxed gathering where all associations in the Mälardalen region meet for a couple of days to discuss, play, and sing, perhaps participate in competitions, and generally be together and get to know each other. It's also possible to pitch a tent or park a caravan and stay overnight. Many good ideas are generated at these events, which are simpler than formal conferences.

Question: Regarding the telescope being built, has it started and will it be ready by summer?
Answer: The telescope construction has begun, and some parts are finished. It might be ready by summer, but it depends on individual contributions. They are looking for a bicycle to use for parts for the stand, and are asking members to check their belongings and get in touch if they have anything suitable.

Question from Tysta Jakep: Why can't anyone help me with my "one eye"? I've had to squint for so long that my other eye is starting to hurt.
Answer: The response is sympathetic, stating "I'm sorry, we will help you as soon as possible."
