Inventory Check:

Representative Council Meeting:
The meeting is scheduled for the weekend of September 26th and 27th, 1998, near Aarhus. The mandatory half-year report and proposals for resolutions must be submitted to PA by September 9th, 1998.

New Observations

Case from Holte

Reported by Toke Haunstrup, this section details an interesting case from the Holte area. Two women, SM and HT, experienced unusual phenomena on the night of May 8th-9th, 1998. SM woke up to her TV in the bedroom turned on with high volume (showing Oprah Winfrey on TV-Danmark) and observed "waves of light" coming from outside. HT also witnessed bluish "lightning flashes" and a light reflection in a neighbor's window. Additionally, SM's digital alarm clock showed an odd time (04:04) as if it had been stopped and restarted.

An investigation by the reporter and Kirsten Benn included interviewing the witnesses and checking TV schedules. A crucial lead came from a neighbor who reported that her power lines had fallen down and were sparking heavily around 4 AM, which eventually subsided. This led to the theory that the fallen power lines caused electrical disturbances in the area. A call to the local electricity company, NESA, confirmed that such incidents could indeed cause disturbances in the local power grid, explaining the TV and alarm clock malfunctions. An electronics mechanic confirmed that short circuits can affect other electrical appliances. The case is presented as a good example of thorough investigation, highlighting how seemingly strange events can have mundane explanations, akin to a "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" scenario.

The author reflects on how many unexplained cases might have simple explanations if more thorough investigations were conducted.

New Video

A new film, "The X-Files: Abduction," has been added to the SUFOI video archive. It is a feature film with Danish subtitles, lasting 1 hour and 25 minutes, available for free loan from PA.

Curdorf on his way to Fårdrup with a new lecture

A clipping from Sjællands Tidende (April 8, 1998) reports on Robby Curdorf's upcoming lecture in Fårdrup on April 16th, 1998, about "CIA's gigantic UFO deception." The lecture, held at Solveig and Per Møller's home, will discuss how the CIA allegedly funds its research through drug trafficking and has knowledge of UFOs. A clipping from Lolland-Falster Folketidende (April 21, 1998) announces a lecture by cand.mag. Søren Hauge at the Stiftsbiblioteket on the topic "UFO question in a theosophical meaning." Crop Circles

An article from Politiken (June 9, 1998) discusses crop circles, referencing an article in UFO-nyt by Ole Henningsen about Danish circles observed in Hóleby, south of Maribo, Lolland, in 1997.
