This annual bulletin from SCEAU/Archives OVNI serves as a comprehensive report on the association's activities and the state of ufological archiving in France for the year 1995. The cover features a symbolic representation of France filled with bookshelves, emphasizing the theme of preserving knowledge and archives.

Editorial

The editorial, written by Raoul Robé (Vice-President, 1995), highlights the growing recognition of the importance of preserving ufological heritage. The association, SCEAU/Archives OVNI, is increasingly contacted by independent ufologists and group leaders. Robé recounts the association's humble beginnings in 1990 and the immense task of building its archives. He mentions the eventual accessibility of some data at the CARAN in Paris and the process of making contact with potential donors, including the use of questionnaires and the establishment of donation contracts. The editorial also touches upon the logistical challenges of archive retrieval and storage, the role of volunteer 'movers,' and the eventual deposit of archives with the National and Departmental Archives. The process of cataloging and making archives available for consultation is detailed, noting that immediate access is not always possible due to the workload and the operational constraints of the receiving institutions.

Bilans d'Activités 1995

This section provides a month-by-month breakdown of the association's activities in 1995:

  • January: Work continued on Bulletin N° 2, and a meeting was held in Paris to finalize details.
  • February: The general assembly took place, leading to the election of a new bureau due to the 'phantom' president's absence. Raoul Robé became vice-president, Thierry Pinvidic became president, and Thierry Rocher joined the board. Confirmation was received that the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties) accepted their dossier, allowing for the computerization of their member directory. They declined an invitation to a conference in Louhans. Bulletin N° 2 was completed and distributed, with a second print run planned for a CNEGU session.
  • March: A new supporting member, Michel Monnerie, joined. The ISSN number was obtained. A formal request was sent to René Faudrin to return administrative documents, which was refused. A new section, 'Courriers des Lecteurs et des Sociétaires,' was decided upon.
  • April: An article about SCEAU appeared in the CVLDLN review 'La Ligne Bleue Survolée.' A document titled 'Don Volontaire d'Archives Ufologiques' was created to address immediate archive donations. Exchanges took place with a Belgian ufologist, Jacques Antoine, regarding address listings. Edith Ambroise signed her archive donation contract. A request for archives from a private individual was deemed beyond SCEAU's scope.
  • May: SCEAU received a 74-page address listing from Jacques Antoine. Edith Ambroise began sending her archives, a process that would continue through the autumn. A working meeting in Paris involved the handover of two significant documents from Jacques Scornaux: the manuscript of 'A la Recherche des OVNI' and the original article 'Du monnerisme et de son bon usage.'
  • June: Lists from 1991, 1992-1993, and 1994 were merged and updated. 18 contract proposals were established based on 1994 questionnaires. Over 60 questionnaires were sent out, utilizing information from the GPUN and MONNERIE archives. An inquiry was made regarding the archives of Mr. Robin, which were reportedly lent out and not yet returned. A meeting in Paris led to the decision to explore using a private location as a temporary transit center for archives. Contact was made with the Paris Police Prefecture regarding an issue with René Faudrin, but the prefecture stated it was a private matter. Draft documents for 'Acte de Don Volontaire d'Archives Ufologiques' and contract letters were finalized. Contact was made with an 84-year-old individual regarding archives from GREPO.
  • July: A meeting with Christine Zwygart was held to prepare for a visit to R. Faudrin to retrieve documents, but the visit was postponed. A request from BIDU for copies of documents from Mme Ambroise was met with a delay, pending confirmation of the return of Mr. Robin's archives. A meeting in Epinal with Isabelle Dumas focused on the final inventory and classification of the GPUN/CNEGU fonds.
  • August: Another meeting in Epinal with Isabelle Dumas finalized the GPUN/CNEGU fonds for deposit with the Departmental Archives. Mme Ambroise continued to transmit her archives. Some contract proposals were rejected due to doubts about the Departmental Archives' ability to preserve them or because the potential member was a minor. Contracts for Messrs. Robin and Gallais were still pending.
  • September: Mr. Gallais inquired about contract terms and signed his contract. Preparations for Bulletin N° 3 intensified. A meeting in Paris involved finalizing delegations and documents. Mr. Robin was reported to be seriously ill, delaying the finalization of his contract. Xavier Burot, former president of CIRU, decided to cede all his UFO archives to SCEAU. A working meeting prepared for the handover of the Burot/CIRU archives.
  • October: Work on Bulletin N° 3 progressed. A meeting in Paris with regional and potential members led to discussions about amending the contract with the National Archives. Mr. Gilles Munsch met with the head of the Vosges Departmental Archives to present the 'ufological library' project, receiving conditional interest.
  • November: The autumn meeting in Burgundy addressed the interview with Gilles Munsch, amendments to the National Archives contract, and the issue of surplus books. The idea of a book exchange (troc) was discussed.
  • December: The month was dedicated to the production of the bulletin, including writing articles, editorials, and humorous drawings, as well as finalizing inventories and proofreading.

Courrier des Lecteurs et des Sociétaires

This section features excerpts from correspondence received during the year, showcasing a range of opinions and feedback.

  • Mr Michel Monnerie (06/03/1995): Expressed admiration for the thoroughness of his deposited report and inventory, calling it a considerable and admirable work. He also praised an article on CARAN and noted the tendency for others to imitate successful ideas.
  • Mme Edith Ambroise (30/12/1994): Questioned the purpose of experiences that serve only the individual, emphasizing the need for broader exploitation of archives beyond a select elite. She also expressed concern about the lack of action on research requests.
  • Mme Edith Ambroise (15/03/1995): Criticized the handling of a 'wanted' notice, calling some ufologists 'imbeciles' and commenting on a lack of intelligence and fear of death among French people.
  • Mme Edith Ambroise (14/04/1995): Preferred her books to remain under SCEAU's protection, noting they were better cared for there than elsewhere.
  • Mr J.C. de Nancy (13/06/1995): Responded to a questionnaire by stating he would not contribute to a 'state association,' using strong language.

The SCEAU's responses to these letters often acknowledge the validity of the points raised and provide context or clarification. For instance, they affirmed their independence from state control in response to Mr. J.C. de Nancy's comment.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The bulletin consistently emphasizes the importance of preserving ufological documentation and making it accessible to researchers. SCEAU positions itself as a crucial organization for this task, acting as an intermediary between ufologists and official archival institutions. The association's operational model relies heavily on volunteer efforts and a structured approach to archive acquisition and management, including the use of donation contracts. There is a clear stance against any form of government control or undue influence, as evidenced by their response to Mr. J.C. de Nancy. The bulletin also reflects a commitment to critical analysis within ufology, as suggested by the positive mention of Michel Monnerie's work in critically examining UFO observations.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The document primarily serves as an archival inventory, listing a vast collection of materials related to ufology, paranormal phenomena, and related scientific and historical topics. The presence of sections on "Demythification" and the inclusion of articles questioning or debunking certain claims suggest a balanced approach, aiming to document and analyze phenomena rather than solely promoting them. The SCEAU, as an organization mentioned, appears to be actively involved in managing and responding to correspondence within the ufological community. The overall tone is that of a meticulous cataloging of historical and contemporary information on the subject of UFOs and related mysteries.

This document is an excerpt from a review titled 'LUNE' with the section 'D/ DIVERS.' and 'E/ COURRIERS', focusing on 'vieilles observations lunaires insolites.' (old, unusual lunar observations).

Remerciements

(EN FORME DE MEA CULPA)

The SCEAU wishes to thank its members for their trust and patience. It acknowledges those who have waited for the finalization of their contract, those waiting for transactions with AD, and those who have waited for a word from SCEAU. The secretary is described as a 'marmotte' (groundhog), meaning they sometimes fall asleep on documents or delay responses.

The secretary 'confus' (confused) is Gilles DURAND.

  • Marmotter: A verb popularized by SCEAU in its 'Main Courante' (Logbook), meaning to doze off, to fall asleep on a document, to keep it aside for an unreasonable time.
  • Ex.: René FAUDRIN has been 'marmotting' for 2 years on SCEAU documents (and SCEAU is losing patience).
  • Or: Our treasurer often 'marmottes' on the 'Main Courante' (but we forgive her).

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The document primarily serves as an inventory and organizational guide for the archives of Michel Monnerie, a figure in ufology. The content reflects a deep and systematic engagement with UFO phenomena, lunar anomalies, and related scientific and historical inquiries. It highlights a strong emphasis on documentation, correlation, and critical analysis, as evidenced by the numerous studies, statistical analyses, and critical reviews mentioned. The publication appears to be a specialized journal or newsletter catering to ufologists and researchers, providing a platform for sharing findings, correspondence, and archival materials. The editorial stance, as suggested by the detailed cataloging and the inclusion of critical studies, leans towards a serious and methodical approach to the subject matter, while also acknowledging the broader context of paranormal and scientific exploration.

The inclusion of a 'Remerciements' (Acknowledgements) section with a self-deprecating tone ('MEA CULPA') and the use of the term 'marmotte' to describe the secretary suggests a community-oriented publication with a degree of informality and camaraderie among its members and contributors. The 'Le Coin des Penseurs' (The Thinkers' Corner) section, featuring a quote about the importance of museums, libraries, and the pursuit of knowledge, further reinforces the intellectual and reflective nature of the publication.

This document is not a magazine issue in the traditional sense, but rather an inventory or catalog of the "FONDS D'ARCHIVES UFOLOGIQUES GPUN/CNEGU" (Ufological Archives Fund GPUN/CNEGU). It details the history and activities of the Groupe Privé Ufologique Nancéien (GPUN) and lists a substantial collection of ufological books and French ufological periodicals.

GPUN/CNEGU Foundation and Activities

The Groupe Privé Ufologique Nancéien (GPUN) was founded in 1975 in Nancy (54), France, by a group of friends. The organization conducted investigations across the departments of Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Meuse, and Vosges. The GPUN was a member of the CECRU and a co-founder of the CNEGU. Its activities, which included conferences, exhibitions, investigations, and observation vigils, spanned 11 years, from 1975 to 1986. During this period, the association published an information bulletin titled "Réalité ou Fiction?". As an association governed by the law of 1901 (ASBL), it accumulated a significant volume of archives. The document states that these archives will be deposited at the Departmental Archives, with the exact location to be confirmed and announced later.

The individuals credited with participating in the archival effort are Mile Isabelle Dumas, Mile Christine Zwygart, M. Gilles Durand, M. Gilles Munsch, M. Thierry Rocher, and M. Raoul Robé.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The document's recurring themes revolve around ufology, the organization of ufological research, and the exchange of information within a global network of researchers and groups. The extensive listing of correspondence and documents suggests a proactive approach to collecting and disseminating information on UFO sightings, investigations, and related phenomena. The editorial stance, inferred from the meticulous cataloging, appears to be one of thorough archival and research-oriented documentation within the field of ufology. There is no explicit editorial commentary, but the sheer volume of contacts and materials indicates a deep engagement with the subject matter.

This document is an issue of the magazine OURANOS, dated 1968, with a focus on UFO (OVNI) related content. It appears to be a compilation of research files, press clippings, and reports, primarily from French and Luxembourgish sources, with a significant concentration of data from the 1970s.

Press Clippings (Pages 2-10)

The majority of the document consists of a detailed compilation of press clippings from various regional French newspapers, cataloging UFO sightings and related events. These clippings are organized by newspaper and include the title of the article and the date of publication. The newspapers featured include:

  • L'EST REPUBLICAIN
  • LE REPUBLICAIN LORRAIN
  • LIBERTE DE L'EST
  • LE PATRIOTE VOSGIEN
  • INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE
  • LUMIERES-DANS-LA-NUIT
  • NOSTRA
  • FRANCE SOIR
  • LE FIGARO
  • REPUBLICAIN LORRAIN

These clippings cover a wide range of reported phenomena, from simple sightings of luminous objects and "flying cigars" to more complex events such as alleged landings, encounters with "little green men," and even reports of extraterrestrials. The dates of these clippings span from 1891 to 1979, with a significant density in the mid-to-late 1970s.

Notable recurring themes in the press clippings include:

  • Numerous sightings of "OVNI" (UFOs) across various regions of France.
  • Reports involving "gendarmes" (police) investigating or witnessing phenomena.
  • Cases with multiple witnesses.
  • Discussions about the nature of UFOs, including theories about satellites, meteors, or extraterrestrial craft.
  • Specific incidents like the "Cessna" incident, the "Orly" incident, and the "Cergy-Pontoise" case.
  • Mentions of scientific conferences and research groups (e.g., GPUN, CNEGU, Académie Lorraine des Sciences).
  • Reports of alleged extraterrestrial beings (ETs) and their activities.

Specific Cases Highlighted in Press Clippings:

  • Montmirail (1976): Landing report.
  • Curel (1974): Flying cigar pursued by gendarmes.
  • Orly (1975): Multiple reports of UFOs, including a satellite disintegration theory and a crash.
  • Cergy-Pontoise (1979): A series of reports concerning the alleged abduction of a person named Franck.
  • Maubeuge: Multiple sightings reported.
  • Nancy: Frequent reports of UFOs.
  • Strasbourg (1978): A UFO observed for 1.5 hours.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The compilation strongly suggests a focus on documenting and archiving UFO phenomena, particularly as reported in the French press. The inclusion of detailed investigation reports alongside extensive press clippings indicates a commitment to gathering evidence and eyewitness accounts. The magazine appears to present these reports and clippings without overt commentary, allowing the raw data to speak for itself. The sheer volume of documented sightings, especially from the 1970s, highlights a period of intense public and media interest in UFOs in France. The inclusion of US dossiers suggests an effort to connect domestic findings with international research efforts. The editorial stance seems to be one of thorough documentation and information gathering within the field of ufology.

This document is a compilation of press clippings, primarily from the French newspaper 'Est Républicain', along with contributions from other publications like 'Le Monde', 'France Soir', 'Le Figaro', and 'Nostra'. The collection focuses on UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings and alleged extraterrestrial (ET) encounters, spanning a period from the early 1970s to the mid-1990s. The clippings are organized chronologically and by source, providing a detailed archive of reported aerial phenomena and related events.

Content Summary

The document presents a vast array of UFO-related news items. These include:

UFO Sightings and Descriptions:

Numerous articles detail specific sightings across France and occasionally internationally. Descriptions vary, mentioning luminous objects, spheres, discs, 'caravelles', and unidentified aerial phenomena. The reported behaviors of these objects include hovering, rapid acceleration, formation flying, and sudden disappearances. Locations of sightings are diverse, ranging from rural areas to cities like Nancy, Dijon, and Cergy.

Extraterrestrial Encounters and Theories:

A significant portion of the clippings discusses encounters with beings identified as extraterrestrials (ET). These reports include alleged abductions, close encounters, and theories about ET intentions, such as observation, communication, or even intervention. Some articles explore the idea that ETs might be ancient visitors or have a hidden agenda.

Investigations and Skepticism:

The collection also touches upon official and unofficial investigations into UFO phenomena. The role of organizations like GEPAN (Groupe d'Études des Phénomènes Aériens Non identifiés) is mentioned, as are scientific and public reactions, including skepticism and attempts to explain sightings as natural phenomena (e.g., meteors, atmospheric effects) or hoaxes.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

Several recurring themes emerge from this compilation:

  • Ubiquity of Sightings: UFOs are reported across diverse geographical locations in France and beyond, suggesting a widespread phenomenon.
  • Varied ET Narratives: Reports range from benign observations to more concerning scenarios involving abductions and potential threats.
  • Skepticism vs. Belief: The clippings reflect a spectrum of reactions, from serious investigation and belief in ETs to attempts at rational explanation and outright dismissal.
  • Media Fascination: The consistent reporting by various newspapers highlights the enduring public and media interest in UFOs and the paranormal.

While the document itself is a compilation of news reports and does not present a singular editorial stance, the sheer volume and detail of the clippings suggest a sustained interest in the topic by the featured publications, particularly 'Est Républicain'. The inclusion of diverse perspectives, from eyewitness accounts to official statements and skeptical analyses, provides a comprehensive, albeit fragmented, picture of UFO discourse in France during the latter half of the 20th century.

This issue of NOSTRA magazine, identified by its N°330 and dated August 2, 1978, is primarily a compilation of UFO-related press clippings and articles spanning from 1975 to 1978. Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The recurring themes in this issue are UFO sightings, the investigation of unexplained aerial phenomena, and the compilation of historical data related to ufology. The magazine appears to adopt a stance of documenting and archiving these phenomena, providing a platform for reports, research, and discussions within the ufological community. There is a clear emphasis on collecting and preserving information, as evidenced by the extensive lists of press clippings, book extracts, and archival references. The inclusion of humorous and fictional elements suggests an attempt to engage readers on multiple levels while maintaining a serious approach to the subject matter.

This document is an inventory and presentation of the "FONDS D'ARCHIVES UFOLOGIQUES EDITH AMBROISE" (Edith Ambroise Ufological Archives Fund), compiled and published by the organization SCEAU. The issue details the acquisition of these archives, which were received from Mme Edith Ambroise following a favorable response to a questionnaire campaign in late 1994. The archives consist primarily of French-language books and journals, some of which are rare, as well as personal accounts of ufological and paranormal experiences, photographs, and press clippings.

Acquisition and Organization of the Archives

The article explains that Mme Edith Ambroise, a new member of SCEAU, has transferred the majority of her archives via postal services. The collection includes books and journals, personal reports on ufological or paranormal experiences, unusual photos, and press clippings on UFOs. For the press clippings, SCEAU is undertaking a process of re-pagination and chronological classification. Due to time constraints, the detailed content of these clippings will not be available in the current inventory and will be presented in a future bulletin. Mme Ambroise has authorized SCEAU to deposit her books in a suitable location and the remainder of her archives will be deposited in Paris. The safeguarding of these archives was carried out by Gilles DURAND.

Our Project 1995/1996: The SCEAU Barter System

In late 1995, SCEAU faced a growing number of archive deposit promises. Due to existing legal deposit requirements for French publications, national archives are reluctant to accept more. To address this, and to preserve the ufological heritage, SCEAU is initiating a "troc" (barter) system. They will keep at least two copies of each book and offer surplus copies in exchange for other ufological works not yet in their collection. This system is intended to apply to both French and foreign publications, as well as self-published works.

"Last Minute" Announcement

The first "troc-livres" (book barter) list from SCEAU is available to members and associates upon request. External individuals should include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with their request.

Humour

A cartoon titled "LE SCEAU RE-INVENTE LE TROC" (SCEAU Reinvents Barter) is presented, depicting cavemen and women engaged in trading items, with the text "ICI ON TROK" (Here we trade).

Activity Forecast for 1996

SCEAU anticipates a productive year in 1996, starting with a January meeting to update their "ufological repertoire." The General Assembly is scheduled for March 9-10 in Villars-Santenoge (52). SCEAU aims to secure new contracts with ufologists and archives through a targeted sensitization campaign. They also plan to follow up on previous approaches made in 1991-1992 to inform archives about their work and secure contracts. Several inventories that could not be included in the current year's bulletin will be prioritized for the next issue. The upcoming bulletin is expected to feature interesting content, including funds from CIRU/BUROT, PERRAULT, LEBLAN, and SCEAU's "Miscellanées."

Humour Section

Two humorous cartoons are included: "RADIO: SORS DE L' IMPRIMANTE!!!" (Radio: Get out of the printer!!!) and "MERDE MON ICÔNE" (Shit my icon), and another titled "TRAQUE SUR INTERNET (Mystère et boule de neige)" (Internet Hunt - Mystery and snowball), and "GREVE SNCF ET CAPRICE METEO (Il en faut plus que çà pour démoraliser le SCEAU)" (SNCF Strike and Weather Caprice - It takes more than that to demoralize SCEAU).

The Troubles of a Secretary

A section titled "LES DEBOIRES D'UN SECRETAIRE" (The Troubles of a Secretary) is present.

Search for Missing Ufologists

This section, titled "AVIS DE RECHERCHE UFOLOGUES PERDUS DE VUE" (Notice of Search: Ufologists Lost from View), is the fourth annual update. It synthesizes previous lists and introduces new entries of ufologists whose information needs updating. The purpose is to gather information to help retrace these individuals. The list includes names, affiliations (ufological and geographical sectors), and dates/activities, spanning a wide range of individuals and organizations within the ufology community in France.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The magazine consistently focuses on the documentation, preservation, and dissemination of ufological and paranormal knowledge. The editorial stance emphasizes the importance of cataloging, archiving, and sharing information within the ufology community. The "troc" initiative highlights a collaborative approach to resource management and knowledge sharing. The inclusion of personal accounts and historical data underscores a commitment to empirical evidence and eyewitness testimony. The magazine also maintains a lighthearted tone through its humour sections, acknowledging the challenges and sometimes absurdities within the field.

This issue of OVNI Futur, identified by its page number '98', is primarily a directory of individuals involved in ufology and UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) research. The publication is in French, and the content is predominantly a list of names, their affiliations with various ufological organizations, their roles within those organizations, and the years of their involvement. The directory spans multiple pages, indicating a large number of contributors and contacts within the ufological community, largely based in France.

Directory of Ufologists

The core of the issue is an extensive list of individuals, presented alphabetically. Each entry typically includes:

  • Name: The full name of the person.
  • Affiliation(s): Names of ufological groups or networks such as LDLN, GEPA, CE OURANOS, SVEPS, GEOS, AAMT, CEMOCPI, CIES OURANOS, among many others. Some individuals are associated with multiple organizations.
  • Role: Their function within the organization, such as 'Enquêteur' (Investigator), 'Collaborateur' (Collaborator), 'Secrétaire' (Secretary), 'Corresp.' (Correspondent), 'Lecteur' (Reader), 'Rédacteur' (Editor), 'Traducteur' (Translator), 'Délégué' (Delegate), 'Président' (President), 'Vice-Pdt' (Vice-President), 'Membre Hon.' (Honorary Member), 'Dessinateur' (Illustrator), 'Secr.Adj' (Assistant Secretary), 'Appr.Scien' (Scientific Apprentice), and 'Com.détec' (Technical Correspondent).
  • Years of Involvement: Specific years or ranges of years indicating when the person was active with that particular group or in ufology in general. These range from the 1960s through the 1990s, with a significant concentration in the 1970s and 1980s.

Some entries also include brief notes, such as 'p.e. homonyme' (possibly a homonym), 'épouse du précédent' (spouse of the previous entry), 'dessinateur/humour', or references to specific articles or publications like 'Les ET des Andes' or 'Presse de la Manche'. There are also mentions of specific investigations, reports, or activities, such as 'Enq.N°1187', 'Enq.N.1223', 'Enq.N°1199', 'Enq.N°1197', 'Enq.N°1129', 'Contact H.CHALOUPEK', 'Groupe UFO REUNION', 'Ufologue des années 50', and 'Vieux chasseur d'OVNI depuis 1954'.

Humor Section

Following the extensive directory, there is a section titled 'HUMOUR' which contains satirical drawings and short humorous texts. These appear to be extracts from 'Main courante' (Logbook) of the SCEAU (Service Central d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses Ufologiques, likely). The drawings include:

  • LE VIZIR: A cartoon with a speech bubble stating, "I, Caliph, in place of the Caliph!" and "is very good !... and washes whiter!".
  • LE PASSEUR DE "MAIN COURANTE" (Goal!!!!): A drawing of a character playing a guitar with a speech bubble about making a thick paste.
  • LE REVEIL - MATIN DU SECRETAIRE (Le dimanche de préférence): A drawing depicting a character waking up, with thought bubbles about not being the responder for GDD (Grand Délégué?) and being urged to be alert.
  • LE REPONDEUR DU SECRETAIRE (A toute heure du jour ou de la nuit): A cartoon showing a phone with a message about not being the responder for GDD and to contact them.
  • LE NOUVEAU BAVARD INVETERE (Chuuut...!...on marmotte): A drawing of a character whispering.

These humorous pieces are presented under the overarching title "AUTOPORTRAITS OU LES METAMORPHOSES D'UN VICE-PRESIDENT" (Self-portraits or The Metamorphoses of a Vice-President).

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The primary theme of this issue is the organization and networking within the French ufological community. The extensive directory highlights the collaborative nature of UAP research, with individuals often belonging to multiple groups and fulfilling various roles. The emphasis on 'Enquêteur' (Investigator) and 'Collaborateur' (Collaborator) suggests a focus on active research and information sharing. The inclusion of a humor section, particularly satirical self-portraits of organizational roles, indicates a light-hearted or self-aware editorial stance, acknowledging the sometimes bureaucratic or hierarchical aspects of such organizations.

The publication seems to serve as a central hub for ufologists, facilitating communication and coordination among researchers across France. The sheer volume of names and affiliations underscores the depth and breadth of interest in UAP phenomena within the country during the latter half of the 20th century.

This document is a single-page issue titled 'HUMOUR', identified as 'BULLETIN DU SCEAU N° 3'. It was published in January 1996 and is the first edition, with a limited print run of 50 copies. The primary content is a humorous cartoon and related text, with a clear focus on ufology.

Content Analysis

The main feature is a cartoon attributed to Raoul Robé, dated 1991. The cartoon depicts two individuals engaged in conversation. One, presumably an archivist or collector, expresses a desire to better protect his 'archives' by placing them in his 'gremier' (likely a personal storage or vault). The other individual, holding a camera and surrounded by files labeled 'SCEAU' and 'OVNI', voices concerns about copyright ('ayant-droits'). He states, 'I don't want my archives to sleep buried!' and then adds, 'And then there's the problem of the rights holders...'. He further elaborates, referring to 'these little troublemakers who scribbled on my collection of spatial phenomena'.

A footnote clarifies that these are 'PROPOS TENUS PAR DE "VIEUX" UFOLOGUES A L'EGARD DE L'ACTION DU SCEAU' (Statements made by "old" ufologists regarding the action of SCEAU).

Below the cartoon, the issue is identified as 'LES RETICENTS' (The Reluctant Ones). The logo for 'SCEAU OVNI' is prominently displayed, featuring a stylized book with 'SCEAU' on its spine and a crescent moon shape.

The publication details confirm it as 'BULLETIN DU SCEAU N° 3', a 'lère édition' (1st edition) from JANUARY 1996, and 'Tiré à 50 exemplaires' (Printed in 50 copies).

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The recurring theme is the intersection of ufology, archival practices, and intellectual property rights, presented with a humorous and slightly critical tone towards established ufological circles ('vieux ufologues'). The 'action du SCEAU' seems to be positioned as a subject of discussion or contention among these older ufologists, who are depicted as potentially 'reluctant' or perhaps possessive of their work and collections. The humor lies in the relatable, albeit niche, conflict between preserving information and respecting ownership, framed within the context of UFO research.
