Magazine Overview

This document is the 10th informational bulletin, titled 'SOBREDISCOS', issued by the SOCIEDADE BRASILEIRA DE ESTUDOS SOBRE DISCOS VOADORES (Brazilian Society for the Study of Flying Saucers). It was published bi-monthly on July 1, 1959, and distributed exclusively to members. The bulletin's editorial and directorial office is headed by Dr. Walter Buhler, 2nd Vice-President.

Editorial and Content

The bulletin begins by stating its interest in exchanging publications with similar organizations, adopting the motto "NOTHING SUBSISTS BUT THE TRUTH AND HE WHO CALCULATESLY HIDES IT FROM OTHERS COMMITS A GRAVE ERROR," attributed to Max Miller. It reaffirms the society's commitment to cooperating with other UFO study groups. The issue highlights three reports: two previously unpublished accounts from Minas Gerais and Paraiba do Sul, and a third from S. Paulo that has seen some prior circulation. It also includes a summary of a report by João Martins from 'O Cruzeiro' dated June 13, 1959.

Public meetings of the Society are scheduled for the first useful Tuesday of each month at 8:30 PM in the auditorium of Clube Inapiarios, located at Av. Almirante Barroso, 78 - 3rd floor. Amicable meetings for the Directorate will take place on other useful Tuesdays, but interested individuals are welcome to visit during these times.

Investigations and Reports

Minas Gerais - Mindurim

An investigation by WB with J and CM yielded a report from July 1958. J's brother, CM, witnessed four discs during lunchtime. Approximately 20 people observed the discs making two perpendicular and horizontal turns around a farm. The objects were described as silent and shaped like a full moon, leaving a white smoke trail approximately one and a half times the size of the disc.

Rio de Janeiro - Paraiba do Sul

An investigation by WP with L. provided an account from August 1958. The witness, living about 30 km from Paraiba do Sul, saw a bright object falling rapidly from the sky without noise, except for a slight hiss as it landed. A round hatch opened, and a smiling man emerged. The witness was initially frozen by fear but then approached. The man picked up a stone, examined it, and then extended his hand. The witness was unsure if the man was referring to a hill, trees, or something else. The man attempted to communicate but failed. With a gesture of annoyance, he turned away, entered the object, which then slowly rose and disappeared. The man was described as handsome, with long blond hair, fair skin, no mustache or beard, and approximately 1.72m tall. He wore a light jumpsuit without pockets or seams. He communicated only through gestures. The object was described as yellow like gold, with rectangular openings on the edge from which white smoke emerged, and appeared to be formed of two parts, like a basin.

S. Paulo Capital

An investigation by WB with LH of S. detailed three encounters with occupants of a flying saucer in April 1959 (days 25, 26, and 30). On April 25th, after attending a dance and experiencing insomnia, the witness heard a "very strong wind-like" noise in the yard and saw a "circle in the air, like burning iron." When the witness's parents were called, nothing was visible. The witness later found a message instructing them to appear at the same location the next day at 3:10 AM and to keep it secret. The witness took a sedative and went to sleep. The next day, the witness attended a party and went to the cinema before returning home. At 3 AM, the witness was awakened and, remembering the previous night's events, went to the indicated location. A circle 6 meters in diameter appeared about 100 meters away. A being emerged from the object in a spiral, through a V-shaped door, and hovered about 20 cm above the ground. The being wore a helmet and a plastic-like suit, with transparent gloves. The being asked, "Can you give me what you found?" The witness handed over the note, which then disappeared from the being's hand. The visitor then requested the witness to return the next Friday at 2:05 AM, again emphasizing secrecy. The witness returned to the object and disappeared inside.

Upon regaining movement, the witness felt intense anxiety and could not work or study. The witness hesitated to tell their mother but eventually did. On the appointed Thursday, the witness awoke at 2 AM and went to the location. The object reappeared, and a being descended in a spiral. This being looked at something on its arm, described as the size of a corn grain, and said, "2:05 PM from Earth." The witness tried to look at their watch but couldn't as their hand was held. The visitor asked if everything was normal, and upon receiving an affirmative response, asked for permission to leave and ascended in a spiral. Shortly after, another being appeared (the witness was unsure if it was the same or another, as they looked identical). This being greeted the witness, its helmet rose and descended, and the witness saw its face, leading to the speculation that this being was involved in a different study. This third visitor also requested permission to leave, ascended, and then a third being appeared (again, the witness was unsure if it was a new individual or the same one returning). This being asked for something to write on, and when asked if it was a pencil, replied "leaf." The witness's movements returned, and they entered the house to get a notebook. The notebook was given to the visitor, who placed it in their palm, and it ascended on its own. The witness became paralyzed again. After about 30 seconds, the notebook returned, along with a message (as depicted in Figure 1). The visitor stated, "A man from Earth should decipher this, and when this is achieved, we will know what to do," and thanked the witness.

Grafological Analysis of the Message

A grafologist analyzed the characters of the message found by LH. The conclusions included:
1. The message was written horizontally, from left to right, with signs tending to move away from the horizontal lines of the notebook towards the right.
2. Characters ascending from left to right indicate optimism.
3. The harmonious arrangement of signs suggests writing by intelligent or superior beings.
4. Closed signs indicate altruism.
5. The absence of connecting strokes suggests synthetic intelligence.
6. Identical groups of signs (A and B) show variations, possibly indicating sensitivity.
7. Regarding the language type, signs are grouped in threes, suggesting syllables rather than letters, with an estimated 150 sign types forming approximately 50 words.

Bahia

A summary of a report by J. Martins from April 24, 1959, describes Hélio Aguiar's encounter near Piata. Aguiar observed a dark, disc-shaped object with four semi-spheres and dark symbols. The object had a dome with openings and several parallel tubes. Its color was silver. While photographing the object, Aguiar felt a strange pressure in his head and a compulsion to write. He lost consciousness and awoke to find himself on his motorcycle with a paper in his hand, written in his own handwriting. The message read: "CEASE ATOMIC EXPERIMENTS FOR WAR PURPOSES DEFINITIVELY. THE BALANCE OF THE UNIVERSE IS THREATENED. WE WILL REMAIN VIGILANT AND READY TO INTERVENE."

'Órbita da Terra e Gravitação' by Dino Kraspedon is highlighted as a recent publication that details theories about Earth's astrophysics, allegedly transmitted by a flying saucer occupant. This book complements his earlier work, 'Contato com os Discos Voadores'.

George Adamski's Visit to Brazil

George Adamski, known for his lectures on flying saucers, had planned to visit Brazil. However, he recently consulted with the society about postponing his visit to the following year, citing the demanding nature of his current work. The society expressed understanding and looks forward to his eventual visit.

Adamski's work is further discussed in relation to his 'Ciência Cósmica' project, which aims to provide a universal research and evolution program, free from particular political or religious affiliations. This project addresses numerous questions about flying saucers, their origin, and purpose.

Letters and Correspondence

A section addresses previous requests for members to update their payment information with the treasurer, Sr. Cristovao Tostes Coelho. The bulletin also mentions ongoing lectures and conferences aimed at disseminating knowledge about flying saucers.

Group of Studies on Flying Saucers

A correction is issued regarding the 'Grupo de Estudos sobre Discos Voadores'. This group was established by the Government of S. Paulo for the investigation and study of flying saucers, not for the study of theories from Dino Kraspedon's book 'Contato com os Discos Voadores' as previously reported.
