Flashes of light appeared in the Western sky, originating from a silently moving object that ascended rapidly and then hovered over Loch Carloway for several minutes. The object displayed four white lights and one red light. Melanie described the light as 'very bright' and noted its unusual movements, silence, and sudden changes in altitude. Ilkeston Hot Spot!

Mysterious Coloured Craft Seen Over Derby

This report, submitted by Mrs. 'FS', details a sighting on August 24, 2002, over Derby. The object had an elliptical shape and displayed multi-coloured lights that flashed in sequence, with red being constant. The object tracked from side to side. The following night, the same object was observed again, appearing larger and with colours visible to the naked eye. Binocular observation revealed the object rotating anti-clockwise. A brilliant white flash was seen in the sky shortly after the object disappeared, described as being like a powerful flashgun. A friend in Normanton also witnessed this flash.

Two witnesses reported sightings of a Bigfoot creature in Derry Township, Pennsylvania, to researcher Stan Gordon. Gabriel Encina, a 47-year-old electrician from Southern Chile, claims he was abducted by a UFO on June 27, 1996. He describes a very bright light landing on his car, causing him to feel anguish and pass out. When he awoke, he and his car were 12 km away, and his wristwatch had stopped at 20:05 hours. Mystery Object Orbits Earth (J002E3)

It is speculated that gravitational tugs from the Sun and Moon may have nudged it away from Earth in 1971, causing it to circle the Sun for 31 years before being recaptured by Earth's gravity in 2002. Chodas considers this scenario plausible but speculative. J002E3 is expected to leave Earth again in June 2003 to resume its orbit around the Sun, with the possibility of returning in about thirty years.
