Engineer Reports Flying Object (Germany) On September 9, 1962, an engineer in Goepingen, Germany, sighted a flying body at high altitude. The object, illuminated by the sun, approached from Kirchheim-Teck, suddenly stopped, performed sharp cornered maneuvers, and then separated into four parts that flew away at great speed towards Ulm/Donau. The Air-Observation at Echterdingen airfield could not provide an explanation.

Unusual Phenomenon Seen in Sky Over Israel On September 26, 1962, a shining body and cloud column were observed across Israel. While initially assumed to be meteoric or satellitic, the simultaneous sighting across the country suggested a higher altitude. Descriptions varied: a photographer in Berschewa reported a fiery spherical body that exploded, leaving a shining column visible for 50 minutes. Children in Alat saw a complex brown object flying at high speed, which ignited into a blinding fire and then a red burning arrow, leaving parallel strips of color before becoming a shining cloud column. In Tel-Aviv, a cloud column shaped like an arrow was visible for an hour, with descriptions of its appearance diverging but agreeing on its further development into a thick fog-like column.

Four Persons Observe Flying Object (Italy) On December 13, 1962, near Legnano, Italy, four people in two cars witnessed an unknown flying object. Spotlighted by two floodlights from the sky, the object flew over them without sound. It returned, spotlighted them again, and then descended a short distance before flying towards Seranno. The witnesses initially kept the observation private but reported it after reading a similar account.

Amateur Astronomer Reports Flying Object (New Zealand) On January 28th, Roger Haste and W. Bailey in Auckland City, New Zealand, reported an unidentified object crossing the sky at high speed. It was sighted about 10 degrees north of the Orion constellation, traveling east. The object was cylindrical or elongated, glowing with a bluish-white light, and ruled out as an astronomical body or satellite. It was observed for approximately 20 degrees before disappearing.

Big Boom Hits Pasco (USA) Residents in Pasco, Washington, reported a large boom on the evening of February 5, 1963, causing houses to rock and sidewalks to quiver. Police received numerous calls inquiring about the explosion.

Housewife Reports Seeing Mystery Object (New Zealand) A Blenheim, New Zealand housewife reported seeing a silvery, brightly shining object on February 4th. She described its underside as having unusual brilliance and estimated its size at 2 inches at arm's length. As it moved away, she observed the upper part and portholes. The object was visible for about 3-4 minutes.

Unidentified Object Sighted Over Glendale (USA) On February 5th, an unidentified flying object was spotted above Glendale, California. Air Defense and the Federal Aviation Agency were investigating. A reader reported the object moving slowly from west to east for about an hour. Jet planes were sighted in the area shortly after Air Defense was notified.

'Mystery Object Spotted in Sky' (USA) An unidentified bright object was reported over southeastern Minnesota on Thursday night. Reports indicated it came from northern Iowa and moved northeast into Wisconsin before disappearing. The Minnesota highway patrol could not identify it.

Pebble Beach Resident Spots UFO Over Carmel (USA) On the night of February 15th, Arthur Connell of Pebble Beach, California, reported seeing an extremely bright object with a long trail, appearing to fall rapidly at an estimated 30,000 feet and 1,200-2,000 mph. The object disappeared over the ocean.

"Real Thing" Says Australian Farmer On February 15th, an Australian farmer, Charlie Brew, reported seeing a 'flying disc or something' about 25 feet wide, battleship grey, with protrusions, that caused his horse and cows to panic. The object descended to about 75-100 feet before shooting off westerly. Brew's son heard a pulsating, whooshing sound.

What Were They? Did You See Them (USA) Unidentified flying objects were reported circling above Maiden, North Carolina, on the morning of February 18th. Floyd Hester described them as flying at 15,000 feet, weaving in and out of formation at tremendous speeds, and moving too fast for jets. They appeared motionless at times, then moved in bursts of speed, leaving no trail.

Glowing Object Stirs Observers in Reno Area (USA) A large, bright object glowing high in the sky on the evening of February 19th caused commotion in Reno, Nevada. Observers described it as pulsating with a red tail. The U.S. Weather Bureau suggested it might have been a weather balloon.

Unknown Object Startles Driver in Belgrade Area (USA) On February 22nd, a resident of Belgrade, Montana, reported a 'strange red ball of fire' that shook his car when it landed about 200 feet away. Telephones were reportedly ringing with similar sightings. Sheriff's officers searched the area but found no evidence.

Students Claim Seeing 'Disc' (Japan) On February 23rd, Isamu Asai, a junior high school student in Nagoya, Japan, reported that he and 11 other students saw a 'flying disc' over their school building. The round-shaped object moved slowly, throwing red beams, and disappeared into the Suzuka mountain ranges. They concluded it was not a jet plane due to the lack of sound.

Brilliant Object Seen Over Orchard City (USA) A swift-flying, silvery object with a long tail was seen by many persons in Colorado on February 25th.

Moon-Shape Object is Seen in Sky (USA) An unidentified flying object described as moon-shaped and changing in color was reported north and west of Modesto, California, by at least seven residents.

Special Report to N.I.C.A.P. (USA) On February 27th, an observer in Tracy, California, reported an object traveling at high speed, dropping to an altitude of approximately 1,000 feet, emitting a bright streak of light, and later taking on a crescent shape with portholes. The object was estimated to be 300 feet in diameter.

Special Report to N.I.C.A.P. (USA) On the evening of February 27th, a resident of Turlock, California, reported seeing an object like a miniature moon, brilliant blue-white in color, moving swiftly north with a trail of orange-red sparks.

Deputies Spot Flying Object From Carmel Hill (USA) Sheriff's deputies in Monterey, California, reported seeing a bright red object with a crescent-shaped tail on February 28th. It traveled from southeast to northwest and was visible for about two minutes.

Special Report to N.I.C.A.P. (USA) On February 28th, a resident of Carmel, California, reported seeing a big, brilliant orange ball moving through the air, described as large and bright, lower than satellites, and faster. It gave off orange sparks or vapor before disappearing east to west over the ocean.

Sights Mysterious Object (USA) Amos Biggs, a hermit in the Snowy Mountains, Montana, reported a 'strange contraption' on the ice of Crystal Lake about two weeks prior to March 9, 1963. The object, silver and saucer-shaped with a compartment at the top, hovered for about 10 minutes, emitting a light buzzing sound, then raised from the lake and disappeared east.

Special Report to N.I.C.A.P. (USA) An observer in Seattle, Washington, reported seeing three lights arranged in an equilateral triangle pattern moving east to west. The lights were blue, less intense than stars, and did not emit aircraft sound. The formation changed position abruptly, indicating a high angular acceleration. The movement was described as smooth.

Object Over Detroit (USA) On March 10th, several persons driving west on the Detroit expressway noticed a cigar-shaped UFO approaching from the south at an estimated altitude of 300-400 feet. They followed the object for several minutes.
