The Mystery of Alamosa: Horse Was Hollow

This section revisits a 'CLASSIC CASE # 1' concerning the unexplained death of a 3-year-old Appaloosa horse named 'SNIPPY' in Alamosa, Colorado. The horse disappeared on September 7, 1978, and was found on September 9th, a quarter mile from the ranch. The dead horse was found completely skinned, with only bleached neck and shoulder bones remaining, attached to the body with smooth, non-jagged edges. There was no blood. A sickening sweet odor pervaded the area.

Investigations revealed unusual findings: 15 circular exhaust marks covering a large area, and a flattened bush. Later, six indentations forming a circle were found. By September 23rd, the horse's neck and head bones had turned black. A forestry official with a civil defense geiger counter found a high radiation count in the area, including the exhaust marks and flattened brush.

Agnes King, mother of the owner, reported seeing a large object pass over the ranch house on the day the horse disappeared. Residents of the area have reported UFO sightings, including a top-shaped object following a car and tires blowing out near an object in a field.

An autopsy on October 9th, witnessed by NICAP members and military personnel, revealed that the horse's abdominal, brain, and spinal cavities were empty. The pathologist stated the absence of organs was unexplainable and that the horse was definitely not killed by lightning.

An investigating committee measured markings, including a 75-foot diameter circle. Mrs. Lewis found a sticky piece of flesh encased in skin, which caused her hand to burn. A tool-like object was also found. The Denver pathologist remained at the ranch, and the group observed two UFOs pass overhead.
