This 'Picture Record' is believed to tell the story of man's early existence. The owner, Mrs. E.M. Irwin, granted permission for its publication. The artifact is described as a rock, five inches by eight inches, with a smooth surface. One translation from an expert associate interprets markings on the rock as:

1. An ancient Prophet-Teacher.
2. A flower grown from a seedling representing man of earth.
3. The form of the womb as formed by the body of the serpent symbolizing a messenger of God.
4. The head and tongue of the serpent signifying it speaks.
5. The sign for directed attention, meaning we are being cared for by the teacher.

The rock is shaped like the continent of Lemuria (MU), theorized to have sunk in the Pacific Ocean. The reverse side is described as fine sandstone, and the picture side appears to have been made in a plastic state with raised sections.

The owner offers a translation: "I am a subject of MU at a time when the Eastern portion has gone down and the West is still up." The article suggests that such 'Picture Rocks' can lead to important understanding of our heritage and potentially rewrite history.

A Special American Visitor: Teacher, Healer & Prophet

Also by Dr. Ron Anjard, this article explores legends from across the Americas (North, Central, and South) and Polynesia about a great Teacher, Healer, and Prophet who visited approximately two thousand years ago. This figure taught of One Great Spirit and One God, advocating love and peace, stopping wars and slavery, and uniting nations like the Iroquois.

As a Healer, he helped many people and was quoted as being about "His Father's Business." The Seri of Baja California mention "many lodges" in his father's land. He left behind trained disciples and a special leader, using a ritual of ordination. He was known as a Prophet for predicting the arrival of the white man over a thousand years before Columbus. One legend describes three ships flying like birds, with a symbol of a giant cross, and men in metal garments carrying rods that 'spake with thunder'. His predictions of white men with beards are cited from Georgia to Washington.

In Mesoamerica, the Toltec calendar, prepared by him, predicted Cortez' arrival. Montezuma allegedly had the calendar stone transformed to hide this date. The Prophet, at Quetzal-Coatl, foretold that these bearded strangers would be "children of war" seeking only "Golden Metal".

His special attributes included quieting storms and walking on water. A well formed by thrusting his staff into a lava bed in Peru to quench a starving city is still sacred. He used time based on Venus, similar to the Indians in the Southwest using Kivas.

According to legends, this figure was a white man with long golden-brown hair, a beard, wearing a white toga, sash, and sandals. His sandals were said to continue healing even after being left behind. The Yaqui people embroidered his symbol, the cross, on their clothing. The Cherokee, Creeks, and others include his symbol in woven baskets. The Giant Cross was his symbol and that of the Great Spirit. Cities were laid out using the Cross pattern.

His symbol was the cross, and the hand symbol with palms showing a cross pattern denoted "supplication to the Great Spirit." In Oklahoma, a cross on the palm pattern is found on pottery. In Yucatan, the Hand Kabul symbol was imprinted on an altar. The Chippewa in Michigan shared that the traditional Indian sign of greeting by raising the hand was his "peace sign," and that he came over 1000 years before the "Black Robes" (likely referring to missionaries).

He allowed people to name him, with names like E=see-cotl (Papago), Ee-see-co-tl (Algonquin), and Ee-ssee-nee (Choctah), all sounding like "Essene".
