Magazine Overview

Book, Site, and Quote of the Month

The "QUOTE OF THE MONTH" is attributed to Professor Stephen Hawking: "Of course it is possible that UFOs really do contain aliens as many people believe, and the Government is hushing it up."

Personal Appearance and Conferences

Richard Dolan is scheduled to give a lecture at the Free Library of Philadelphia on Wednesday, December 9th, at 7:30 PM. Contact information for more details is provided as 215-686-5414 or www.freelibrary.org. Upcoming MUFON Conferences for 2010 in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are announced as "to be announced."

Awareness Days and Out of State Assists

Awareness Days are also "to be announced as soon as date's, places and times are set." There were no out-of-state assists reported for the month of November.

Investigations (Cold Cases and Field Investigations)

Information is sought for the Carbondale or Presque Isle incidents, with contact emails provided as [email protected] or [email protected]. Updated news on the Kecksburg PA case is linked via a PDF document. A field investigation was conducted on November 7, 2009, by CI Witkowski, SSD, FI Troy Noll, and Tim Heckman of Pennsylvania Paranormal Truth at the Carbondale Incident site in Carbondale, PA. This follow-up involved sample collection, mapping, and photography.

Sighting Reports and Website Information

In November 2009, a total of 36 sightings were reported. The newsletter announces the addition of "THE MUFON STORE" as a link on the main page for purchasing MUFON merchandise, including books, clothing, and videos.

Notice and Membership Drive

A notice seeks individuals interested in becoming Field Investigators for MUFON in all counties of Pennsylvania. A membership recruitment drive is planned for 2010, and organizations interested in having PA MUFON host a table at their events are encouraged to contact [email protected] or [email protected]. The newsletter also encourages participation as a member or Field Investigator by joining MUFON at www.mufon.com or www.pamufon.com.

Training

A training schedule for 2010 is being developed for State Section Directors and Field Investigators, with notifications to be sent via the Field Investigators Newsletter.
