Magazine Overview

Book and Site of the Month

Conferences

PA MUFON successfully hosted conferences at Montgomery County Community College and Westmoreland County Community College in 2009. These events were attended by approximately 700 people and featured a strong lineup of speakers. The newsletter expresses gratitude to the members who contributed to the success of these conferences.

Speakers

The newsletter acknowledges and thanks all the speakers who shared their experiences and findings. A list of speakers includes Dennis Balthaser, Peter Robbins, Richard Dolan, Tom Carey, Bill Birnes, Patty Wilson, Stanton Friedman, Dr. David M. Jacobs, Dr. Barry Downing, Eric Altman, Stan Gordon, and Carl Feindt.

Out of State Assist

John Bainbridge, a Star Team Member, provided assistance in Flatwoods, West Virginia, for an ongoing investigation of the "Flatwoods Monster" case. He worked alongside Frank Feschino and Stanton Friedman, conducting forensic tests and collecting evidence samples. A production crew from the History Channel was also present for the "Monster Quest Show."

Investigations

Information is being sought regarding the Carbondale, Kecksburg, or Presque Isle incidents. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact [email protected] or [email protected].

Field Investigation

CI Witkowski and FI Troy Noll were scheduled to visit the Carbondale Incident site on November 7, 2009, for a follow-up investigation, including sample collection, mapping, and photography.

Sighting Reports

The newsletter reports that 54 sighting reports were logged in September 2009 and 20 sighting reports were logged in October 2009.

Website Information

A link to "THE MUFON STORE" has been added to the main page, offering MUFON merchandise such as books, clothing, and videos.

Notice and Membership

PA MUFON is seeking individuals interested in becoming Field Investigators in various Pennsylvania counties, including Tioga, Bradford, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Clinton, McKean, Warren, Clearfield, Clarion, Mercer, Erie, Bedford, Blair, Elk, Indiana, and Greene. The newsletter also announces a membership recruitment drive for 2010 and invites organizations to have PA MUFON tables at their events. Training

A training schedule for 2010 is being developed, and State Section Directors and Field Investigators will be notified via the Field Investigators Newsletter.
