Book and Site of the Month

Awareness Days

An "Awareness Day" is being planned for the Northeast and Northwest sections of Pennsylvania. Specific dates and times will be announced later and posted on the newsletter.

Presentations

PA MUFON is scheduled to give presentations at BOO FEST 2009 on September 26th and 27th. These events will take place at Brady's Run Lodge in Brady's Run Park, Route 51, Beaver Falls, PA.

Investigations

The newsletter solicits information from the public regarding the Carbondate, Kecksburg, or Presque Isle incidents. Interested individuals are asked to contact [email protected] or [email protected].

Upcoming Events

• Two major UFO conferences are announced:
• Philadelphia UFO Conference: October 9-10, 2009, at Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, PA. The speaker lineup for October 9th includes Butch Witkowski, Bill Birnes, Dr. Barry Downing, Will Allen, and Jennifer Stein. The lineup for October 10th features John Ventre, Tom Carey, Peter Robbins, Carl Feindt, Rob Swiatek, Sue Swiatek, and Rosemary Elle Guiley.
• Pittsburgh UFO Conference: October 17, 2009, at Westmoreland Community College, Youngwood, PA. The speaker lineup for this event includes Butch Witkowski, Eric Altman, Stan Gordon, John Ventre, Dr. Barry Downing, Bill Birnes, Dr. David Jacobs, and Patty Wilson.

Both conferences offer opportunities to meet researchers and share personal UFO or abduction experiences.

Sighting Reports for August 2009

The newsletter provides statistics on reported UFO sightings, with 44 reports logged in July 2009 and 35 reports logged in August 2009.

STAR Team Impact Project

A significant initiative called the "STAR Team Impact Project" is introduced. This project represents a "bold and aggressive step forward in tracking the UFO presence among us." It involves the creation of a rapid response Strike Team Area Research (STAR) team composed of highly trained Field Investigators. Major incentives for joining include financial compensation, coverage of travel expenses, and the opportunity to be part of a new civilian UFO investigative research team. This project is made possible through a funding arrangement between MUFON and BAASS (Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies). MUFON is described as the largest UFO research organization globally and the logical choice for this mission.
