Key Events and Announcements

UFO Day Cookout and Skywatch

KC MUFON is organizing a fundraising cookout and skywatch on July 2, 2016, at La Benite Park on the Missouri River. This event, which has seen numerous UFO sightings in the past, will feature big telescopes, high-powered binoculars, a night vision setup, a raffle, a silent auction, and implant testing. The cost is $12 in advance or $15 at the door for adults, and $5 in advance or $6 at the door for children aged 12 and under. KC MUFON Chapter Expansion

To accommodate the rapid growth of the Kansas City chapter, which currently meets on the east side of the greater KC area in Independence, Missouri, a new meeting location is being established in the Westport area. This will result in two KC MUFON chapters: KC MUFON East and KC MUFON West, starting in May 2016. The meetings will be held at 1814 Westport Rd, at the Google Fiber meeting facility. Jean Walker will continue as the section director for KC East, and Margie Kay will lead KC West. Most meetings will be synchronized, with video capture and Skype presentations shared between locations to ensure no one misses out. MUFON Meetings and Speakers

KC MUFON Meeting (April 4, 2016)

The Kansas City MUFON chapter held a meeting on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Perkins Restaurant in Independence, MO. The event included a social and dinner from 5:30-6:45 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7:00 p.m. The guest speaker was Catherine Cogorno, who presented via Skype on the topic "Crop Circles - As Above So Below: Revisiting the Crop Circles." Cogorno, who has studied crop circles for many years and published a workbook for children, has previously presented to MUFON groups in St. Louis and KC. She is also a practitioner of Star Healing. The meeting cost $5.00 at the door, a new policy for all meetings. This was a dinner meeting, and attendees were encouraged to order food. Door prizes were also offered. The meeting was open to MUFON members and long-time attendees, with a request for new attendees to contact Margie Kay. Children under 14 were not permitted.

Greater St. Louis MUFON Meetings

These meetings occur on the Third Wednesdays of the month from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at C.J. Muggs, 101 W. Lockwood, Webster Groves, MO 63119. The location is described as a nice, safe, and centrally located area. Meetings are open to the public with a requested $2.00 per person donation. Guest speakers present in person or via Skype on UFOs and related topics. Debbie Ziegelmeyer, Missouri MUFON State Director, provides a monthly update on Missouri UFO sightings and activity. Upcoming speakers include:

• May 18th: Margie Kay, presenting on Historic Missouri sightings (in person).
• June 15th: Professor David Jacobs, from the International Center for Abduction Research (via Skype).
• July 20th: Race Hobbs, from KGRA Digital Broadcasting (via Skype).
• August 17th: Dana West, MUFON Sec. Director and Investigator, discussing "Triangle craft sightings near Jefferson Barracks Bridge and South St. Louis area" (in person).

Mid-Missouri MUFON Meeting

These meetings take place on the Second Tuesdays of the month, with dinner and social time at 6:00 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7:00 p.m. at L one Star Steak House, 3220 Vandiver Dr, Columbia, MO.

Columbia Section Meetings (April & May)

The April meeting featured a film and discussion. The May meeting will feature Margie Kay presenting on "Historic UFO Crashes and Encounters in Missouri." These are dinner meetings, with attendees ordering from the menu. No one under 16 is permitted. There is no charge for the meeting itself, but a hat will be passed to help defray speaker expenses. Reporting UFOs

MUFON requests that all UFO reports be submitted through the online reporting system at MUFON.COM, where an investigator will be assigned.

Social Media and Chat Lists

MUFON Organizational Guidelines

MUFON operates as a 501.c.3 organization with established by-laws. The newsletter explicitly states that official MUFON meetings are not permitted to address politics, religion, non-related charity events, personal issues, agendas, or any subject or opinion that is not directly UFO-related or similar in subject matter, including conspiracy theories.
