Debbie Ziegelmeyer, Missouri MUFON State Director, reports on 6 UFO sightings filed in Missouri during April, which is consistent with the average for recent months. The reports are categorized by town and description:

• Raytown: Triangle craft with an entity present.
• St. Peters: Flashing group of multicolor lights.
• Kirkwood: Purple oval object with contrail.
• Columbia: Green ball of light traveling fast across the sky.
• Independence: Boomerang craft with no sound.
• Iron Mountain Lake: Historic sighting of balls of light.

Nationally, MUFON received 316 CMS reports in the U.S. and 14 in Canada for April. California led with 46 reports, followed by Texas (24) and Michigan (19). Of the U.S. reports, 30 involved craft or objects seen under 100 feet, 78 had star-like descriptions, 70 were circle-shaped, and 59 were triangles. Additionally, 15 reports involved landing, hovering, or take-offs, and 8 entities were observed.

The latest activity in Missouri seems to involve reports of green balls of light traveling at high speed along Highway 70, with sightings reported in St. Charles, Columbia, and Independence, spanning the width of the state. Readers are encouraged to report any unusual sightings along Highway 70.

The St. Louis area MUFON meeting is scheduled for the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Culpepper's Restaurant in Creve Coeur, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The meeting is free to the public, and non-MUFON members are welcome.

This month's meeting will feature a video presentation from the 2011 International UFO Congress Conference by A.J. Gevaerd, a former chemistry teacher and editor of Brazilian UFO Magazine. Gevaerd will discuss Brazil's recent announcement to collect UFO reports and share his experiences with Brazilian government officials and UFO sightings. Before the video, there will be a discussion of recent local events, and guests are invited to share their UFO/Paranormal experiences.

Entity Observed by Witness in Raytown, MO

Margie Kay, Assistant State Director, recounts a detailed sighting by a retired police officer in Raytown.

The witness was awakened at 3:15 AM by his German Shepherd barking at something in the backyard. He saw a bright white/blue light coming through the windows. He initially thought it might be a helicopter but heard no sound. He went to the back door, and the light blinked out. Looking up, he saw a very dark, dull black triangle shape above his yard, estimated to be 50 feet wide, unmoving and without lights.

He heard a noise near the back fence and then a sound like an animal (two clicks) in the hallway. Shining his flashlight, he saw a strange, short (approximately 4' tall), gray, humanoid creature with big eyes standing in the hallway. The creature disappeared instantly.

When he looked up again, the craft was also gone. The witness, a retired police officer with 30 years of experience and FBI training, stated this was not normal and felt uneasy. He considered calling 911 but decided against it, fearing his former colleagues would think he had lost his mind.

He also noted a time anomaly, with his clock showing 4:46 AM after what felt like only 10-15 minutes. Upon waking his wife, he discovered he had a red sunburn on his face, neck, and arms, as if he had been in the sun too long. He plans to see a doctor if the sunburn doesn't improve, but won't be able to explain the cause. He concludes by stating that this experience was real and reaffirms his belief as a 64-year-old.

UFO REVIVAL - Patterson, MO (June 17 & 18, 2011)

This event commemorates the 1973 UFO Flap and will be held at the Patterson Community Center. It includes:

The event also features "EARTHPROBE," a book by Hayden C. Hewes detailing the "Piedmont Unexplained" case with eyewitness statements, illustrations, and photos. The event is presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance, Wayne Ozark Region, Inc. (CAAW).

Event Hours: Friday 10 AM - 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM - 7 PM.

UFO Sculpture Contest for Area Schools: Open to 3-dimensional UFO-related entries from students. Entries must fit through a normal-sized door and will be exhibited during the UFO Revival. People's Choice Awards will be given.

Guest Speakers, Celebrity Speakers & Storytellers: A lineup of speakers and storytellers will be featured, with time limitations for presentations.

Exhibits/Demonstrations/New Age Music: Various displays and demonstrations are welcome.

Vendors: Vendors selling UFO-related, Paranormal, or science items are permitted. Vendor fees are $50.00 per display table.

Admission: Suggested donation of $1.00 per adult and $0.50 per child. This is an educational, not commercially sponsored event.
