Magazine Overview

This issue of the MINNESOTA MUFON Newsletter, dated September/October 1995, focuses heavily on UFO research, abduction phenomena, and government involvement. The newsletter features detailed reports on ongoing research projects, discussions of significant historical UFO incidents, and updates on related events and meetings.

From the State Director

The State Director, unable to attend the MUFON Symposium in Seattle, reports on receiving the proceedings and highlights the impressive lineup of speakers. The newsletter will begin a series of six summaries from thirteen speakers, encouraging readers to obtain the full proceedings. The first summary focuses on "Commonalities & Disparities: Findings of the MUFON Abduction Transcription Project" presented by Dan Wright. Wright, formerly Deputy Director of North American investigations, now manages this project, which aims to summarize and organize abduction data into patterns. The project compiles data from 142 cases across 15 researchers, transcribing audio tapes from hypnosis sessions and interviews. This effort is described as the broadest undertaken to study the nature and purposes of alien visitations, supported by MUFON and the Fund for UFO Research (FUFOR).

Abduction Case Analysis

The Abduction Transcription Project reveals several commonalities in abduction experiences. In fifteen cases, subjects had precognitive foreknowledge of an alien intrusion, sometimes occurring up to a day in advance. Accompanying sensations often included tingling, buzzing, or vibration, suggesting electrical activity. In 34 cases, the presence of an alien was sensed without sight or sound. The age-old perception of "just knowing" that someone is lurking was noted. In two cases, a ghostly presence forewarned an intrusion.

Forty-three cases reported the person being dazed, confused, disoriented, or in a dream-like state during the event, with adults and men particularly affected. This state might be exploited due to superior strength, preventing reaction. Children are apparently not controlled this way. The air during experiences was generally fresh, but sometimes included odors of sulphur, ozone, chemicals, sweet, bittersweet, or unpleasant smells. In 24 cases, unusual sensations were reported, including burning, scorched flesh or hair, and even emanating from a hybrid infant.

Physics-defying phenomena were common, with 45 cases reporting the ability to pass through windows and walls. In 23 cases, aliens were observed doing this, and in 31 cases, subjects were traversed through objects. While Out-of-Body Experiences (OBEs) were sometimes reported, they only occurred when the person was on the examining table, and cannot explain penetrating matter and being physically touched.

Levitation was a frequent method of capture, with 75 cases reporting being floated upwards. Visible light was cited by 32 people as the method for entry into craft, with many seeing their receding homes through the beam. In one instance, a person penetrated the ship's exterior. Thirteen people reported being mentally compelled to walk to an isolated location and climb a ramp. Six cases involved this as the sole means of capture. Seven individuals stated a small capsule was used for returning home, indicating varied alien technology.

Entity locomotion varied, with some floating or gliding, while 34 cases involved aliens actually walking. Many vehicle shapes and sizes were observed, with disc-shaped craft being the most common (27 of 43 cases). Subjects generally reported breathing normally aboard ships, though labored breathing occurred occasionally due to lack of oxygen or humidity. No aliens were seen wearing breathing apparatus.

Examining rooms were typically circular. Seventeen cases reported very large rooms with others entering and leaving, resembling a human processing plant. Subjects sometimes waited on low benches, and small chairs were common. Metallic devices were often seen lowered from ceilings. Hallways were described as curving gently in small ships but straight and wide in large craft. Rooms varied in brightness, with some being dim. Self-illuminating walls were common, as were surgical lamps. Room colors were typically white or metallic silver-grey, though some reported differing colors over time.

Irregular settings included abductions in infancy, with entities seen from cribs or playpens. Dan Wright commented on the difficulty of a toddler distinguishing a grey being from a stuffed animal. Fourteen cases involved seemingly underground places with rocky walls and musty air.

Humans working with entities were observed, sometimes in structured facilities with tile floors, believed to be government sites. While most were paralyzed on examining tables, some were strapped down, suggesting advanced technology. Paralysis was sometimes induced by an alien touch or pointing. Sixteen subjects remarked on the fast pace of exams, feeling time was of the essence. In 43 cases, subjects were anesthetized by ingesting something or by an alien's touch. Despite anesthesia, some felt pain. In 41 cases, brains were scanned or probed, and 30 received implants. Blood, tissue, bone marrow, and bodily fluids were taken. Only 81 of 142 subjects expressed fear; others were familiar with aliens. Two-thirds were angry, and eleven felt embarrassed or humiliated. Eight felt happy to be in the entity's presence, and three were saddened to leave.

Entity numbers ranged from one to hundreds. Tall entities were usually in charge. Skin colors varied widely, including white, grey, putty, bluish-grey, greenish-grey reptilian, greenish-brown, yellowish-grey, tan, brown, and dark. Skin textures ranged from smooth and shiny to moist, rough, reptilian scales, and heavy pores. Rough-skinned types were more often in charge. Most entities were bald, some had hair, and two were simian types. Eyes were generally black, but other colors were seen. Some black eyes were described as goggles, others as filled with gel. Some had visible sclera or coloral irises. Seven leaders had cat's eyes with vertical slit pupils.

Fetuses in tanks and hybrids of various ages were seen by 31 subjects. Various ear shapes were described, including no ears, indicating telepathic development. Some aliens lacked noses, and one short being had its mouth open showing gums. Some entities, like the "praying mantis," were naked.

Contrary to popular belief, aliens displayed emotions such as anger, fear, sadness, and pride. Love was sensed by 20 subjects, compassion by 55. Fifteen reported aliens found human plight humorous, and a person's conduct could produce pleasure. Threats were made for non-cooperation. In five situations, a female alien showed compassion. The hybrid presence was typical, with one hybrid child addressing a subject as "mother." In some cases, women were told to nurse a hybrid child after being palpated to induce lactation, even if not pregnant.

Paranormal abilities were described. In three unusual cases, subjects recognized their own hands as similar to a grey's, believing their appearance had changed. Two subjects felt their bodies were being altered for interdimensional flight. Sixteen subjects believed entities were their true forebears. Forty-five subjects noticed other humans present during episodes.

Other Presentations and Information

Dan Wright sees a dichotomy among abductees: most are used for offspring, while a smaller group is told they are "special" with a future mission. He notes a marked disparity in evolution and technology across entity groups. In four cases, black helicopters were seen. Wright concludes that if the government is involved with aliens, mistakes will be made, and the MUFON Abduction Transcription Project will record them.

Dick Moss summarized Wright's findings, noting the importance of every sentence in the presentation and suggesting the video might be watched later. He identified three main groups of ETs: 1) small, grey beings with no internal organs, four times as intelligent as humans; 2) scientists; and 3) politicians (Diplomats?). Moss emphasizes that the key to understanding these encounters lies in documented repetition.

William J. McNeff, Assistant State Director, summarizes presentations from the 1995 MUFON Symposium. Katherina Wilson, author of "The Alien Jigsaw," discussed her abduction experiences and underwent psychological testing, CAT scans, and an MRI, with all tests showing no abnormalities, suggesting abductions are real. Wilson emphasizes "teaching dreams" where abductees actively participate and learn from aliens. She described an alien called "The Blonde" who used her to teach other aliens about the soul and eternal life.

Wilson also described various alien types, including "The Doctor" (or "The Scientist"), who takes flesh samples, and "The Praying Mantis," an insect-like creature. She noted fourteen incidents suggesting military/government involvement, stating that the government could keep the UFO phenomenon secret. Wilson also mentioned theories in theoretical physics and concluded that the apparent alien-human hybridization program may be part of an ongoing process for evolving Homo Sapiens into beings with human characteristics capable of existing in higher dimensions.

Minnesota Crop Circles

Bob Schultz reports on crop circles, continuing a previous report. Two corrections are made to a prior issue: the investigation date at the Harold Smith farm was October 7th, and an article was from a Milan, Illinois newspaper. A report from Dr. William C. Levengood of Pinelandia Biophysical Laboratory on the Milaca, MN Crop Circle (Report #33) is summarized. Levengood's conclusions indicate that rapid thermal energy altered cell wall pit structures in developing corn ears. The Blaine, MN crop circle is described as "unusual" due to physical evidence. Samples submitted to Dr. Levengood included corn, weeds, white granules, yellow crystals, and magnetic material. The corn showed similar cell wall distortions to the Milaca circle. Weeds had scrape marks. The yellow crystals were a natural organic resin, and the white granules were inorganic, composed of Calcium, Silicon, Oxygen, Sulphur, and Sodium, forming unusual corkscrew-like crystals when water evaporated. These crystals resemble DNA chains, and Dr. Levengood theorizes the evidence suggests a spaceship.

(Bad) News From The Net

Sacramento-based psychologist and abduction researcher Dr. Richard Boylan reportedly had his license revoked in California due to gross negligence involving two patients. Charges include imposing his views of space aliens into patients' dreams, nude hot tubbing with patients, and bartering nude massages for therapy. Boylan claims the charges are false.

Schiff vs. GAO - Stumbling Along The Yellow Brick Road

This article details a records audit conducted by the GAO at the request of Congressman Steve Schiff concerning the Roswell crash of 1947. The RAAF initially reported a "crash and recovery of a flying disc," later described as a weather balloon. The GAO contacted various agencies, including the Information Security Oversight Office, the Air Force, and the National Archives, finding no records related to "Majestic 12" (MJ12). However, a message mentioning "MJ Twelve" was received by the Information Security Oversight Office, claimed to be a forgery by AFOSI. The Air Force's 1994 report conceded something crashed but suggested it was a Project MOGUL balloon train. The GAO searched for government records regarding Roswell from 1947 through the 1950s, querying the FBI, CIA, NSC, and DOD. Army regulations required permanent air accident reports, but not for weather balloons. GAO found records of most military units assigned to RAAF but noted missing records for the Military Police Company and other RAAF administrative records from 1945-1949 were destroyed. Only two reports were found: the 509th Bomb Group's history report noting a "flying disc" recovery and an FBI teletype describing a "hexagonal-shaped disc suspended from a large balloon." The FBI's Cincinnati office and the Air Materiel Command had no records of the Roswell crash or examination of debris. Other agencies like the White House Office of Science and Technology and the Department of Energy also reported no direct knowledge or records, except for information received from the Air Force. The article questions why the FBI and Eighth Air Force were involved, why a balloon would be sent for examination, and why records are missing, suggesting a massive cover-up.

Crop Circle in Iowa

Bob and Elgene Kamper discovered a crop circle in their Arlington, Iowa cornfield. Farmers in the area reported seeing red glowing balls in the sky prior to the discovery. MUFON investigator Pat Howard and Kevin Randle examined the circle, noting that stalks on the perimeter were laid down facing outward, while those in the center lay facing inward. Most stalks retained their green color, but those near the center were brown. No footprints were found, and the possibility of a hoax was not ruled out. The article mentions that media coverage was extensive, but the local Twin Cities media ignored it. Bob Schultz suggested contacting Dr. Wm. Levengood for sample gathering procedures.

Meetings and Events

The newsletter lists several upcoming meetings and events: The "2nd Annual Science & Politics of UFOs" conference in St. Paul, MN, on October 28-29, 1995, featuring various speakers. The Theosophical Society in Minneapolis is hosting talks on "I Remember Atlantis" and "The Children of Light," as well as a video presentation on "The Moon/Mars Connection." The International Tesla Society meets monthly in St. Louis Park, MN. Radio programs "Laura Lee Show" on KSTP-AM 1500, "Art Bell's Dreamland," and "Extraordinary Science" are also mentioned.
