An Estimate of the Situation

William McNeff, Asst. State Director, presents an 'estimate of the situation' regarding UFOs, drawing parallels to military strategic decision-making. He discusses receiving numerous UFO reports and having encountered about 30 people who reported close encounters with humanoids. News, Out and About

Bill Knell's "Control Freaks!"
Bill Knell, in his Special Memorial Day Issue newsletter, criticizes 'control freaks' who he believes are attempting to rewrite history and control citizens' daily lives. He asserts that the government controls aspects of the media and aims to divide people. Knell quotes Rush Limbaugh and the late Tip O'Neal on the public's perception of UFOs and the government's role in setting priorities.

John Frick's Information on MacArthur
John Frick, Director of Alien Spacecraft Data, provided information about an 'Interplanetary Phenomena Unit' file instituted by General MacArthur in 1945. Frick believes MacArthur had a close encounter near Clark Field in the Philippines in 1944-45 and was convinced of the nature and origin of the alien spacecraft. Reports were sent weekly to Washington, D.C., from MacArthur's Southwestern Pacific Command.

'Macro-Beings' Arriving via UFOs?
Carlos Vilchez, a UFO investigator from Costa Rica, proposes the term 'macrobes' for visitors from beyond, contrasting them with microbes. He explains that these beings possess highly developed brain power, allowing them to dominate space-time. Vilchez believes they have visited Earth for years, being interpreted as angels, ghosts, or demons. He suggests that humans are now at a stage to understand this phenomenon, which he sees as beings acting according to their nature, possibly having rights over humans similar to how humans raise and kill cows. Vilchez asserts that humans currently use only about 7 percent of their brains and could achieve much more with greater utilization.

Shoemaker-Levy Comet Impact
The newsletter reports on the impending collision of the Shoemaker-Levy comet with Jupiter on July 20th. The impact is expected to unleash energy equivalent to 200 million megatons of TNT. The comet broke into several chunks due to Jupiter's gravitational field in 1992, and scientists predict the impacts will create flashes brighter than any star in the night sky. The Galileo space probe is expected to photograph the event, and telescopes on Earth will observe the resulting turbulence. This event coincides with the 25th anniversary of the first manned lunar landing.

An excerpt from Glenn Campbell's 'Groom Lake Desert Rat' discusses a search warrant issued to seize video equipment from an ABC news team near the secret Groom Lake AF base. The team was allegedly photographing restricted military installations. The equipment was returned, and the case is reportedly still under investigation.

Vegas Sightings
Chuck Miller reports an unusual sight in Las Vegas: brilliant, shining, spinning objects in the sky, followed by jets investigating. Shortly after, a weather balloon was observed, which Miller suggests might be a tactic called "CYA" (Cover Your Ass).

An Astronaut Speaks Candidly...

This section recounts a 1974 NBC TODAY show segment featuring Congressman J. Edward Roush, authors Ralph and Judy Blum, and Astronaut/Brigadier General James A. McDivitt. Ralph Blum discussed the 1973 UFO flap and cases like the Hunter Air Force Base incident and the Hickson/Parker Pascagoula abduction. General McDivitt stated he believed Hickson's account. From the South Dakota MUFON...

Al Fast Thunder, a former Captain in the U.S. Air Force and Vietnam veteran, recounts an incident on May 10, 1972, where his squadron encountered an Identified Alien Craft (IAC) near the Ashua Valley. The craft, traveling at approximately 600 miles per hour, matched their speed before accelerating out of the atmosphere at over 19,000 miles per hour. This event created a vortex that pulled 33 jets upwards by 10,000 feet. The NSA and CIA met them upon return, confiscated all film, and threatened court-martial with the penalty of death for revealing details of the incident.
