A significant warning is issued: contacting or encouraging the 'Deros' can lead them to enter one's aura and act like 'vampires,' draining life force. While they are generally described as etheric, they can manifest in dense matter if aided by a human. They are not typically involved in human affairs but can cause insanity. The text suggests they are scattered and can be dangerous if disturbed, advising a well-armed group to confront them if necessary.

Another source describes these beings as degenerate descendants of Atlanteans living in underground physical bodies, possibly connected to lower astral planes. The interpretation of underground phenomena varies, but the existence of underground realms is acknowledged.

Malta's Underground Structures

The issue then shifts to Malta, highlighting its strategic importance and its history of being a coveted location for naval powers. The island's soft limestone foundation has been extensively used for fortifications, storage of water, food, and weapons, as well as for shelter. For thousands of years, the population and priesthood have carved out tunnels and grottos. It is noted that as late as 1939, known cave systems were used to traverse the island. The famous crypt under the Knights of Malta church is mentioned.

Specifically, the article details the Hypogaeum in Hal Saflieni, near the village of Paola, located on the high plateau behind the capital, Valletta. This neolithic underground wonder, dated to at least 3000 BC, was discovered by chance in 1902. It is considered a replica of a surface temple. The text refers readers to available literature for detailed descriptions of this extensive cave system.

However, it is mentioned that the floors in some rooms of the Hal Saflieni Hypogaeum are covered with intricate spiral patterns. The absence of soot from torches suggests that the beings who created these structures either had a form of illumination or could see in the dark, or had no need for eyes.

Pan's Realm and its Inhabitants

The text introduces 'Pan's Realm,' a mythical kingdom within the Earth, drawing information primarily from Geoffrey Hodson's writings. Hodson, a trained clairvoyant, made observations in Switzerland and England over forty years prior, with his wife transcribing his visions of the Earth's etheric and astral worlds.

He described beings called 'Fauns' who resemble children about six years old, with black curly hair, pointed ears, and small, furry feet with cloven hooves. Their eyes are described as having a skewed, curious, and sly expression. They move with a lively, trotting gait, upright on their hind legs. Hodson noted they possessed a distinct, earthy vibration and smell. He categorized them as belonging to a separate, third evolutionary stream originating deep within the Earth's hollows, distinct from humans and elves/fairies.

Hodson discovered that attempting to contact their consciousness caused his own consciousness to descend into lower regions and back in time, to the earliest beginnings of life on Earth. He realized that the Fauns' consciousness came from below, unlike human consciousness which reflects from above, with its seat located above the physical form. To find the Fauns' center of consciousness, Hodson had to go 'under' the form, the opposite of humans.

He also learned that the physical body is our densest form, an expression of an intangible spiritual principle. For the beings of Pan's Realm, however, the form was the least dense expression of consciousness. As Hodson's consciousness delved deeper, it felt an increasing density and weight.

The Earth Logos and Elemental Beings

Behind the Fauns and satyr-like forms, a powerful intelligence is perceived: the 'Earth Logos.' This entity, in theosophical terms, creates self-conscious beings as part of its work, analogous to how a Solar Logos created the human race. This suggests that beings like the 'snake race' (orm-rasen), previously mentioned as coming from the inner Venus, might be creations of the Venus Planet Logos. The text posits that Venus, being far ahead in evolution, might have mastered space travel long ago.

Hodson's clairvoyant visions also revealed colossal beings, between 4.5 and 6 meters tall, sitting on rocks, with chins in their hands and elbows on their knees. They were neither ape nor human nor elemental, but a combination of all three. They possessed a powerful, instinctive mentality, a level of intellect higher than animals but more akin to intensified instinct than developed reason.

He also encountered beings resembling centaurs (horse bodies with human heads and torsos) and satyrs (dark-skinned, sly beings with eyes that emitted green fire). These beings spoke a guttural language mixed with deep, rolling laughter. Hodson felt a sense of extreme antiquity when observing them, linking them to the third evolutionary stream.

Hodson's experience with a Pan being is recounted: a being resembling a man in dark clothes, with an exceptionally hairy face and black beard, and two short horns on his forehead. This being seemed to derive pleasure from Hodson's inability to make contact, observing him with cool, objective curiosity. Hodson felt the being was aware of his presence and superior, with its consciousness seated 'under' the form.

Hodson received occult instruction from a teacher from the 'Anglaevolutionen' (Angel Evolution), who provided intelligent explanations for his clairvoyant observations.

The Teacher's Explanation

The teacher explained that Pan's Realm is moving away from the human race's consciousness. Its beings belong to an earlier epoch. Some of the more promising members are given a chance to enter the human kingdom. The satyr Hodson encountered was one such being, contemplating its potential entry into the human realm.

This explains the strong interest in the Fauns and the caves, suggesting some humans might be 'graduates' from this third evolutionary stream from Earth's interior.

The Earth Logos as a Physical Body

The teacher further explained the concept of the 'Planet Logos.' Everything in nature – trees, flowers, grass, mountains, valleys – are manifestations of the 'Great One' who has the planet as its physical body. The Earth Logos is described as a being in evolution, having passed through all degrees of density and is now on an upward journey.

This powerful consciousness is evenly distributed across the globe, with subordinate centers in various areas. These areas are where great civilizations have arisen, such as Egypt, Shamballa, India, Central Europe, and Ireland. Hierarchies are aware of these centers and utilize them for their work.

Earth's Evolving Consciousness

The Earth itself is a being in evolution, having gone through all density levels and is now ascending. The changes in vegetation and the emergence of new species are expressions of the Earth Logos's developing consciousness. The Earth has created beings other than humans and animals, such as those in Pan's Realm, which are natural expressions of certain aspects of Earth's consciousness, possibly the result of experiments.

In a very distant past, these Pan beings were more material and roamed the surface, occasionally interacting with primitive humans. As humans evolved emotionally and mentally, Pan became less desirable as an ally and was withdrawn from the material plane. However, Pan still exists and can be found. The text suggests that when the cycles of Pan and humanity align again in the future, contact may be re-established.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The recurring themes in this issue are the existence of subterranean civilizations and beings, the nature of consciousness, and the concept of planetary evolution. The editorial stance appears to be one of presenting esoteric and occult information, drawing from various sources and investigators like Meade Layne and Geoffrey Hodson, to explore these mysterious aspects of reality.
