New Catalog Features
A new column, 'AVG.', has been added to the catalog. This column indicates the total lending fee per book, which includes postage plus a 25 öre lending fee. This feature is intended to benefit borrowers by making loans more affordable in the long run and providing a clearer understanding of the volume of each book. This corresponds to point 4 in the lending regulations.
Lending Regulations (Låneregler)
1. Eligibility: The book service is available to participants of Brevcirkeln and members of MIS.
2. Loan Period: The maximum loan period is 1 month, inclusive of postal transit time. Books must be returned by the date stamped on the loose slip inside the book.
3. Loan Limit: A maximum of 5 books can be borrowed per loan.
4. Lending Fee: The fee is postage plus 25 öre per borrowed book. The new right-hand column, 'AVG.', shows the total fee in öre for each book. The total fee for requested books should be sent with the requisition, preferably in stamps. Periodicals cost 25 öre each.
5. Late Returns: An overdue fine of 25 öre per book per day will be charged for late returns.
6. Book Availability: The service cannot confirm if a book is already on loan. If a requested book is not received within a week, it is assumed to be on loan. Orders will be processed in the order they are received.
7. Postal Restrictions: Books are sent as printed matter and must not exceed 1 kg. More than 2 books often require multiple shipments. Re-use of packaging is encouraged when returning books.
8. Care of Books: Borrowers are obligated to handle books with extreme care. Lost or damaged books must be replaced at their full value.
9. Donor Risk: Individuals who lend books for a specific period do so at their own risk, as some books may be difficult or impossible to replace if lost or damaged.
10. Requisition Accuracy: Requisitions must be precise, including the book's letter designation, number, and title.
