SPECIAL REPORT: THE BELGIUM SIGHTINGS.

Since November 1989, Belgium has experienced an unprecedented wave of UFO sightings, with over 6000 witnesses and hundreds of reports. The object is described as a large, triangular craft, observed for 150 consecutive days. It reportedly has three large white lights on its underside and is capable of traveling at low altitudes, making little noise, changing direction instantly, and accelerating at incredible speeds. It has been seen throughout the Brussels metropolitan area and surrounding districts.

Colonel Wilfred DeBrowner of the Belgium Air Force publicly stated that these are UFO sightings and that the Air Force is under orders to investigate. The Free University in Brussels, under physicist Prof. Leon Brenig, is also conducting investigations, with Prof. Brenig stating that no known modern jet aircraft could replicate the craft's maneuvers or speed.

  • Notable incidents include:
  • November 29, 1989: An object appeared near the Belgium and West Germany border, observed by police on both sides while flying slowly. It was pursued by three police cars until it zoomed off.
  • Brussels Office Building: Office workers were terrified when the object repeatedly buzzed a 20-story building.
  • March 30th: NATO radar detected the object, and two F-16 jets scrambled to chase it. Multiple radar units tracked the object, which outdistanced the jets and disappeared at sea.
  • January: The object appeared over a soccer game in Brussels, seen by hundreds and described as huge and silent.
  • Roadside Sightings: Dozens of reports describe the object buzzing cars and motorists at treetop altitudes.

The Belgian Government has ordered the Air Force to continue its investigation and has enlisted the Belgian Society for the Study of Spatial Phenomena for expertise. A jet transport plane has been provided for researchers and technicians. The society is receiving at least fifteen calls a day about sightings.

DON'T BE AFRAID

BY MARK LANDERS, LIUFON KINGS COUNTY CHAIRMAN

This article addresses the fear and isolation experienced by individuals who witness strange phenomena, particularly UFOs. Mark Landers acknowledges that such experiences can be weird, wild, and difficult to share due to fear of disbelief or being labeled as crazy. He notes that people often become afraid of what happened, fear they are losing their minds, or are afraid to tell anyone because they believe they are alone in their experience.

LIUFON receives reports from people whose lives have been significantly impacted by encounters with UFOs and potential extraterrestrials. They have descriptions of phenomena that defy scientific explanation and technical measurements that appear to contradict known scientific laws. The range of phenomena associated with UFOs and their effects on people is vast.

The article encourages individuals to contact LIUFON to share their experiences, assuring them that they will be listened to and may receive helpful suggestions. The message concludes with "And don't be afraid."

SPECIAL REPORT: THE SOUTH AFRICAN U.F.O. CRASH RETRIEVAL

On May 7th, 1989, it was reported that the South African Air Force intercepted and brought down a UFO over the Kalahari Desert. Timothy Good, a UFO researcher, allegedly obtained Top Secret South African Air Force documents from a leaked source. The incident began when a South African Navy frigate reported an object heading north-west. Inland radar confirmed its high-speed track, and two South African Mirage IIIE interceptors were scrambled. One jet, equipped with an experimental laeser weapon, brought down the craft.

The object was described as a 40 to 60-foot metallic disc that crash-landed, impacting the desert floor. The fuselage was reportedly ruptured at the point of the laeser burn. A retrieval operation involving French-made Super Frelon Helicopters was mounted. The helicopters experienced difficulties due to the craft's propulsion system interfering with their electronics and engines. One helicopter reportedly crashed with the loss of its crew. Other helicopters landed nearby, and recovery teams approached on foot.

South African military personnel recognized the object as a classic disc shape with a pronounced dome. They opened the hatch and removed several bodies. Two beings survived the crash: one died within hours, and the other lived for two weeks before succumbing to respiratory problems from Earth's atmosphere.

Timothy Good's revealed documents indicate a deal between the United States Government and the South African Government: in exchange for the craft, bodies, and technology, the US promised twenty nuclear warheads to South Africa. The craft and bodies were subsequently shipped to Wright Patterson Air Force Base for examination.

Timothy Beckly, editor of "U.F.O. Universe," has received copies of the documents. Leonard Stringfield, an authority on Crash Retrieval Information, gives the story some credence, but authenticity awaits further investigation. There is speculation that the case might be an elaborate fraud.

An announcement to the membership states that Antonio Hueeneas contacted LIUFON regarding a potential hoax in this story, with several nationally known researchers uncovering disturbing information.

WYTHVILLE, VIRGINIA:

On February 18th, Wythville Community College sponsored a lecture by noted UFO Researcher Tony Gonsalves on UFO-Stealth Technology connections. Gonsalves addressed a crowd of 75 people, discussing his contention that some of the $22 billion appropriated for the Stealth Bomber went into developing an aircraft built with alien technology captured from crashed UFOs. He claims this aircraft can hover, is silent, nuclear-powered, and uses anti-gravity propulsion. Gonsalves is collecting information for a forthcoming book.

GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA:

The "Post Gazette" reported that the Pennsylvania Society for the Unexplained released information for 1989, noting a significant drop in UFO sightings to 168, down from 245 in 1988. The association also investigated 51 unexplained incidents, a decrease from 125 in 1988. Many alleged UFO reports were explained as meteors, planets, or atmospheric phenomena. However, 27 sightings in several counties could not be explained away.

Specific reports include:
1. A silent luminous object hovering over Squirrel Hill on May 17th, 1989.
2. UFOs spotted in several counties on August 31, 1989, pursued by military jets.
3. An unusual hovering light that picked up speed while chased by military jets on October 28th, 1989.
4. Triangular shaped aerial objects seen near a power station in Warren County on December 23, 1989.
5. Reports of Bigfoot sightings, including an encounter with a 7-foot tall biped creature near Donegal.

The Pennsylvania Society for the Unexplained is a non-profit volunteer organization based in Greensburg.

EUGENE, OREGON:

The Eugene Oregon "Register-Guard" documented a diamond-shaped UFO sighting on New Year's Eve. A formation of five bright lights appeared in a diamond formation and moved across the night sky. Approximately twenty partygoers reported the sightings. The sighting was also substantiated by Robert McCaffrey and his house guests. Witnesses agreed the objects made no sound. The lights reportedly split formation, with two going one way and two the other, and a fifth light appeared later.

THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL U.F.O. REVIEW.

(CONTINUED FROM THE PREVIOUS PAGE)

The strange lights disappeared after 10 minutes over the Coburg Hills area. The nearby Pine Mountain Observatory reported no sightings. Robert McCaffrey's son photographed the lights, showing two smudged circles. The incident remains unexplained.

GULF BREEZE, FLORIDA:

Since November 1989, Gulf Breeze has been the center of continuing UFO activity, with daily night and daylight sightings. This is the same location where Ed Walters and his family had famous sightings in 1987. Over one hundred witnesses reported seeing objects, and 18 independent photos were taken. The area has had ten confirmed landing sights since November 1989. Military jet and helicopter scrambles to chase these objects have been fruitless as the objects outfly the aircraft. Daily photographs and video tapes have been taken. Some activity involves reports of alien abductions, totaling fifty-one, as well as animal mutilations and missing persons.

LIUFON members in Florida have been keeping the organization informed, describing the activity as reaching "Flap" proportions.

MOSCOW, SOVIET UNION:

The famous UFO landing case in August 1989 was part of a year-long "Flap" that rocked the Soviet Union, with hundreds of sightings and landings reported across the country. Reports of alien encounters and abductions were also known. This information came from Soviet researchers at a West German Conference in October last year and had not reached the West until now.

ANNOUNCEMENT !!!

THE FORTEAN SOCIETY OF NEW YORK PRESENTS:

ZACHARIA SITCHIN

NOTED LECTURER AND AUTHOR

SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 1990 AT 2:00 P.M.

TRS SUITE 7 EAST 30TH STREET

NEW YORK CITY

TOPIC: "WAS THE EARTH FIRST SEEDED BY BEINGS FROM ANOTHER PLANET WITHIN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM?"

THE LONG ISLAND SCENE.

Activity on Long Island continues to increase. On May 12th, a large object composed of six very large amber lights was observed hovering near the New York Telephone Microwave Tower in Shirley. The witness reported the object rose straight up, went backward, made a right-angle turn, and shot across her line of sight at supersonic speed, appearing to have landed in South Haven Park. The report is being investigated by LIUFON. The object had no discernible structure and blended with the night sky, emitting extremely bright lights with no noise.

Another report investigated by LIUFON concerns an extremely large object seen over the ocean near East Moriches Coast Guard Station around April 19th at 1:22 a.m. The witness observed a pattern of five very bright white lights in a circular formation, revolving. The object was estimated to be at least half a mile out over the water and made no noise. The lights were estimated to be 116 feet in diameter, with the overall object size exceeding 1150 feet. The witness could not see a definite structure but felt the lights were attached to something, not advertising lights. The witness wishes to remain confidential but has a reputable background, and the report is rated as having a high probability of seeing something strange and unusual.

A report from Speonk is classified as a "High Strangeness Report." A family on Old Country Road reported hearing sounds of people walking and branches breaking in the woods behind their property. Despite warnings and two shotgun blasts, the sounds continued. The family reported that two dogs and cats had disappeared from their property over the last three years without a trace. This pattern is noted to be similar to disappearances reported during the Gulf Breeze sightings.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

This issue of the Long Island U.F.O. Update demonstrates a consistent focus on UFO sightings, investigations, and the broader implications of these phenomena. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry and information dissemination, encouraging members and the public to report their experiences and stay informed. Recurring themes include detailed accounts of specific sightings (Belgium, South Africa, Long Island), the challenges of investigating such phenomena, the potential involvement of governments, and the personal impact on witnesses. The publication actively promotes its own activities, such as meetings, skywatches, and conferences, reinforcing its role as a central hub for UFO research and discussion on Long Island and beyond. The inclusion of reports from international locations like Belgium, South Africa, and the Soviet Union, alongside domestic sightings, highlights a global perspective on UFO activity. The emphasis on encouraging people not to be afraid to report their experiences underscores a supportive and investigative approach.
