František Novotný's book, "Po stopách bludiček" (On the Trail of Will-o'-the-Wisps), is mentioned as having previously investigated this mystery, presenting several hypotheses but ultimately calling for others to continue the search. The current research team, inspired by Novotný's call, believes the manuscript might have been entrusted to someone for safekeeping during difficult times. They are appealing to the general public for help, asking for any information about people who might have been involved with the manuscript, either by consulting with Souček, handling parts of it, or intentionally hiding it. They acknowledge that many potential contacts may no longer be alive but hope their relatives, descendants, or acquaintances might possess relevant information or personal recollections.
