Obituary for Ivan Mackerle

Research and Investigations

Milhostovský kopec Stone Row

An investigation is mentioned concerning a stone row located on Milhostovský kopec (Milhostov Hill) in the Cheb district. 'Ziegenrück' Stone Mounds

An article from 'Zlatá Praha' (Golden Prague), issue 21, dated November 1, 1864, is cited regarding a location in the Sokolov district. On a forest-covered hill named 'Ziegenrück' (Goat's Back), west of Loket and towards Slavkov, there are described over 30 round stone mounds, each measuring about four fathoms in diameter and one and a half fathoms in height. These are tentatively identified as possible burial mounds ('mohyly'). The text suggests these mounds might be located on the hill 'U Lovčí komory' (Near the Gamekeeper's Chamber) with GPS coordinates 50°10'57.198"N, 12°46'33.201"E, or on a hill called 'Zelenáč' with GPS coordinates 50°10'21.970"N, 12°47'27.677"E. The distance between these two points is approximately 1.5 km. Readers familiar with the location or who explore it are invited to share their findings.

Zvíkov Underground Exploration

A report on the exploration of underground spaces at Zvíkov took place on October 13, 2012. The findings are stored in the KPUFO2000 database.

Semily Mysterious Face

FFC Annual Meeting
