Magazine Overview

This document is the 5th issue of the "Newsletter KPUFO" from 2002. It serves as an internal communication for members of the KPU (Czech Association for Paranormal Research), focusing on ufology, paranormal phenomena, and related research.

Editorial and Organizational Matters

The editorial begins by addressing members as "Dear friends, colleagues," and reflects on past attempts to foster cooperation between ufological societies. The author expresses disappointment that a proposal for mutual communication and cooperation was met with resistance and misunderstanding from some individuals and groups. Despite efforts to explain the principles and organize meetings, provincial interests and a desire for one-sided cooperation prevailed, accompanied by suspicion and accusations of ulterior motives. The KPU states that it will no longer force cooperation but will continue to defend the work of its members.

A new service is being introduced for KPUFO members: access to digitized issues of various research and ufology magazines on the KPUFO 2000 internal server. These magazines can be browsed and downloaded in DjVu format, with the software also available for free to members. The internal website has also been rebuilt and is continuously updated, accessible with a password since June 2002.

New Thematic Pages and Member Contributions

Several new thematic pages have been added to the KPUFO website:

• "Pages about photographs with strange misty shapes": A joint project with the Statenice Research Center, aiming to showcase various images and investigate their causes with expert input.
• "Pages about strange inventions that preceded their time": This section will cover reports on androids and automatons in ancient times, as well as modern inventions, with a future focus on inventions within the Czech Republic.

Members, especially those with technical skills, are encouraged to contribute to these pages with their knowledge, suggestions, and additions. Those without internet access can send their contributions by mail.

Additionally, the "Agrosymbols – discoveries, opinions, hypotheses" pages are in limited operation, and an album of crop circles in the Czech Republic will be available exclusively to KPU members. The "Album of Megaliths" and "Abduction Project" pages are also being continuously updated. Members are asked to help with the content for pages on topics such as legendary lands (e.g., Atlantis), Templars, mysterious disappearances, SHC (likely a reference to a specific phenomenon or group), Egyptian mysteries, and Maltese circles.

A permanent task for all members is to supplement and update the KPU pages for each district with interesting materials, photos from trips, and research findings.

An offer is made for a CD containing the KPUFO website, all regional sections, the internal KPUFO*2000 pages, and thematic KPUFO pages, commemorating the 11th anniversary of the organization. Orders can be placed via mail or email.

Members are also asked to assist in processing and transcribing cases and materials from the club archive, particularly those related to UFOs and anomalous psychotronic phenomena.

Members are reminded to update their contact information, including email addresses and mobile phone numbers.

Membership and Support

Members are asked to fulfill their obligations, including paying the 2003 membership fee of 300 CZK (which includes the ZAZ magazine). The organization also requests donations of surplus office supplies, especially A5 envelopes.

Members are encouraged to spread awareness about the club and recruit new members, emphasizing that membership offers more than just belonging to a group; it fosters a shared atmosphere and collegial relationships, aiming to build a network of knowledgeable researchers across the Czech Republic.

Research Expeditions and Events

Ivan Mackerle participated in a research expedition to the Pacific island of Nan Madol. The newsletter anticipates more resolved mysteries.

The Czech psychoenergetic society and the Union of Patients of the Czech Republic are organizing a series of lectures titled "A New Look at Civilization Diseases" every Tuesday until December 10, 2002, in Prague. The lectures are presented by MUDr. Karel Erben.

The Czech psychoenergetic society is also hosting a pre-Christmas meeting called "Paths to Light" on December 14, 2002, in Prague, for members and friends.

Sightings and Inquiries

A report describes two circles appearing on the surface of a pond in Velky Vrestov, which moved slowly for about an hour. Various hypotheses are presented, and readers with opinions or fishing experience are invited to share them.

The newsletter is seeking information about a book by I. Etrich (1879-1967) titled "Confessions and Spiritual Legacy."

Information is also sought regarding the discovery of an alchemical workshop in the 1960s during renovations of a palace near Prague Castle. The workshop, possibly a kitchen, was reportedly found behind a wall and its contents were preserved. There are mentions of it being moved, possibly to Russia, and a possible reference in a story by Nesvadba.

Magazine ZAZ and Book Reviews

The latest issue of the KPU magazine ZAZ (4/2002) is announced, with a table of contents including articles on ufological issues, skepticism, unbelievable stories, mysterious phenomena, historical enigmas, and new books. Topics covered include ley lines, the legend of the Silver Book, a "ghost in the apartment" case, the mystery of Atlantis, and the story of the "White Lady" in Bilovec.

New books reviewed include "The Reality of Abductions in the Czech Republic" by K. Rasina and an article on the Philadelphia experiment. "Free Energy" and "Boeing and antigravity" (Podkletnov effect) are also discussed. Health-related topics include bioenergetic protection and amplifying telepathic thought. A debate on "Science vs. Alternative Medicine" is presented, with a mention of a homeopath winning a lawsuit.

An overview of interesting materials and commentaries on anomalous phenomena from the media is provided, including topics like "Internet: Studio of Esoteric Sciences," "Seven Signs of Pseudoscience," "Giant Insects Threaten Villagers," and "Monster from the Chinese Lake."

A new book by O. Valka, "Psychotronics - Basic Theoretical Concepts," is announced, covering the theory, place in science, and research in psychotronics.

Recurring Themes and Editorial Stance

The newsletter consistently promotes research into paranormal phenomena, ufology, and related fields within the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the importance of member participation, collaboration, and the dissemination of information. The editorial stance appears to be one of open inquiry, while also being critical of pseudoscience and promoting a structured approach to research.
