Magazine Overview

This document is the IUFOPRA (The Irish UFO and Paranormal Research Association) Newsletter, issue number 7, covering October, November, and December 1994. It is published by IUFOPRA from their P.O. Box in Whitehall, Dublin, Ireland.

Announcements and Member Information

The newsletter begins with a note that the next issue will be published in January 1995. It announces the opening of a Mobile Phone Service for members and other UFO organizations, with specific operating hours: Mondays to Fridays from 2:30 pm to 4 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 11 am. Service is not available on Sundays, and the contact number is 088-530332.

A gentle reminder is given about the next Committee Meeting, scheduled for Monday, January 30th, 1995, at 8 pm in the Elland Conference Room at the Skylon Hotel, Drumcondra. Members are also urged to notify the association immediately if they change their address.

The Consultation Facility has been cancelled until further notice.

Director's Comments

The Director is inviting members to submit articles, comments, and suggestions for publication in the Monthly Newsletter or Journal. The maximum lines allowed for a newsletter submission are 25, and for the journal, 60 lines or 3 pages. All correspondence should be sent to Mr. Karl Morris, PRO, at the IUFOPRA address.

The Director poses a provocative question regarding the Roswell incident: "ROSWELL! ROSWELL! ROSWELL! WHEN WILL THE SEARCH EVER END? WHO IS BRAVE ENOUGH TO COME FORWARD WITH THE ULTIMATE TRUTH?" The newsletter states that in every UFO and Alien contact report, the same image is presented as on the newsletter issue. It mentions that Bentwaters in England is in a similar situation and that IUFOPRA will look into the Bentwaters UFO and Alien contact reports in the next issue.

TV/NOTAM

A new TV series on UFOs called "ENCOUNTERS" has been screened by the Fox Network in America and is noted as a potentially interesting program to watch out for, with a possibility of broadcast on Sky One in the UK.

Alien Adverts

The section highlights an unusual advertising campaign by the Pioneer Corporation of Japan, using "Aliens" to advertise their new state-of-the-art Laser Disc Player, which includes CD-Rom and 3D Glasses. The text humorously suggests this is why aliens might visit Earth – to buy CDs and wear 3D glasses.

Forthcoming Video

A video titled "Billy Meier Exposed" by "Underground Video" is mentioned as soon to be available in America. The makers claim the Meier Case is a hoax, based on six months of research with cinematographers, physicists, and computer analysis from "TOTAL RESEARCH". They assert that discoveries of miniature models and deceptive methods were used, and that alleged scientific examinations proving authenticity are unreliable. The video makers also claim that those who authenticated the Meier case are not credible scientists or investigators. The newsletter notes that without viewing the video, they cannot speculate further but will comment if it becomes available in Ireland.

Roswell Update

IUFOPRA has learned that the Central Independent Production's UFO-THE UNTOLD STORIES, which was scheduled for ITV, has been indefinitely cancelled. The newsletter speculates on the reasons for this cancellation, questioning if it was due to new information about Roswell or warnings from the M.O.D. They promise to keep readers updated.

New information has surfaced regarding the Roswell Aliens since the release of "ROSWELL THE MOVIE" in America. Recent reports describe their eyes as Asian-like, slanted, with inset pupils, irises, and whites, and a tiny residual nose. Their skin is described as very smooth and pale, with an albino-like quality. There were five aliens, standing approximately four feet, three inches tall, completely bald. This description is contrasted with "other famous Roswell Photographs" that allegedly show an alien with Oriental eyes, lying dead in a blue suit with a zipper. The newsletter questions the authenticity of the popular blue suit photograph, which is supposedly in the possession of Soviet Cosmonaut Marina Popovitch, and wonders who was behind it if it's a fake, or why the photographer was given access if it's true.

The article continues, discussing rumors about the surviving alien, including claims it was flown to John Hopkins Medical Center or a security facility in Florida. A former undercover FBI agent, a Doctor, allegedly examined the alien's spinal structure after its death from critical injuries and was then debriefed in Washington DC, instructed to remain silent under threat of losing her practice or her life.

More on Roswell is promised for the next month. The IUFOPRA JOURNAL, issue 5, is in early production stages and will be available soon.

Special Mention

The Directors and Committee of IUFOPRA were honored to have Mr. Denis Harper, Regional Officer from Northern Ireland and an expert in paranormal research and founder director of NIPRA, speak at their committee meeting on September 26th. His talk on the paranormal was found to be very interesting and mind-boggling, and they hope to publish some of his writings in the future.

Extra Mobile Phone News

Eircell is introducing an extra service for mobile phone owners in the near future. This service will allow members to leave messages on the IUFOPRA phone number when there is no answer, and IUFOPRA will get back to them. A full explanation will be provided in the next newsletter.

Ten Points to Note If You Should See a UFO or Experience a Close Encounter

The newsletter provides a list of ten important points for witnesses:

1. Do not approach the landed UFO within 10 feet and remain under cover.
2. Never touch the UFO, as it could be dangerous.
3. If alone, look for another witness to verify the sighting.
4. Try not to interfere with UFO occupants; comply if they wish to communicate, and try not to let panic prevent this.
5. Memorize as much as possible about the UFO, its actions, and any occupants.
6. Be aware of the time throughout the incident.
7. If you have a camera, take photographs of the UFO, landmarks (preferably in the same frame), and occupants if they do not appear hostile. After the UFO is gone, look for signs of its presence.
8. After the experience, consult a doctor to check for radiation exposure or other sickness, and consider consulting a psychiatrist due to potential shock or hallucination.
9. Write down everything you remember about the experience, making drawings. Repeat this effort about four days later without looking at the first effort.
10. Contact IUFOPRA as soon as possible with a clear and precise report, mentioning any marks on the ground or burns/rashes. A Witness Report form will be sent, containing questions vital for a concise report.

All reports will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

Advertising: Alien Identities Book

This section promotes the book "Alien Identities: Ancient Insights into Modern UFO Phenomena" by Richard L. Thompson. It includes several positive quotes from notable figures in the UFO community, such as Clark C. McClelland, Ken Phillips (Editor, UFO Times), Whitley Strieber, and Lionel Beer (BUFORA).

The author, Richard L. Thompson, is described as having a PhD in mathematics from Cornell University and 20 years of scientific research experience, including work in mathematical biology and NASA-funded satellite remote sensing.
