ICFUFOR Journal - No 36 - July 2002

Magazine Overview

Sightings Reports

April 2002

• April 30, 2002 - "Coast" highway (between Netaniya to Haiffa): A citizen reported seeing three shiny yellow lights moving north, which later increased to six lights. The witness described them as large, like streetlights, and noted a shape between the lights that cast a shadow. The lights then turned off sequentially. The observation occurred between 21:00 and 22:00, with the lights estimated to be lower than an airplane's altitude.

May 2002

• May 6, 2002 - Tel-Aviv: A 12-year-old child named Bar, using a telescope, observed a round, dark-gray, saucer-shaped object moving in a straight line. His mother also witnessed it before it disappeared behind buildings. The object was reported to have moved east.

• May 6, 2002 - Kibbutz-Ma'abarot: Yoram Erez reported seeing a convoy of six to seven orange lights aligned in a straight line, moving from north to south above Moshav Elyashiv. The lights moved upwards one by one and disappeared, with the entire event lasting about 20 seconds.

• May 6, 2002 - Tel-Aviv: Gid'on Polany observed a shiny yellow-white object shaped like a "match" moving very slowly to the west. It disappeared behind buildings in the "Kiriya" area.

• May 10, 2002 - Ramat-Ha'Sharon (northern Tel-Aviv): No specific sighting is detailed for this date and location, only the location is listed.

• May 13, 2002 - Kiriyat-Yam (near Haiffa): Mr. Avraham observed a white dim light behind clouds, with three attached white-yellow lights moving slowly in a horizontal line above the Haiffa gulf. He observed them for over 15 minutes.

• May 21, 2002 - Bat-Yam (city near Tel-Aviv): A citizen reported seeing lightened objects with "fire-color" above Ben-Gurion international airport. Initially seven, they reduced to six, then four. The objects turned on and off in different sky locations.

• May 25, 2002 - "Coast" highway (from Tel-Aviv to Haiffa): Eilona Pinto and her husband Dror observed a very large, white-bluish, shiny spot moving at high speed in a jumpy way. They noted its disappearance and reappearance at different locations, flying in zigzags. Dror identified a rectangular dark shape moving with the object. The object disappeared near Kfar-Shmariyahoo junction.

• May 25, 2002 - Jaffa: Bernard observed a very fast-flying object high in the sky that ejected "pulses of trails" while moving north-west. He stated it was not an ordinary airplane due to its high flight, speed, and trail ejection.

• May 28, 2002 - Hadera power-station area (northern Tel-Aviv): A report from "107.5 FM Radio" of Haiffa mentioned a blue object observed falling into the sea near Hadera, which caused drivers to stop and watch.

• May 31, 2002 - Ma'agan-Michael (northern Tel-Aviv): Arik Hasidim observed three white-yellow lights in a structure, moving slowly from west to east. He described it as a "giant UFO, something very big" and observed it for about 3 minutes.

June 2002

• June 1, 2002 - Holon & Be'er Ya'akov (cities in south of Tel-Aviv): Hanoch Nebo reported observing bright yellow lights from his home in Holon until 02:40. He and Elisha Gillad drove towards the lights, which seemed to be floating above eastern Kfar-Yonna junction. Hanoch videotaped the lights for about 3 hours. Teenagers from Be'er-Ya'kov also filmed the lights. The films are to be presented at a future convention.

• June 11, 2002 - Shimshit (a settlement in Galilee): Anat reported observing a small, strange flying object from her balcony at 23:00. She described it as a flat, shining disk shape object spinning in front of her eyes for almost an hour.

• June 20, 2002 - Beit-Shemesh (a city next Jerusalem): Gabriel Borohov observed four yellow lights moving towards and away from each other in the sky above a wooded area. The lights lit down slowly one after another. He videotaped the observation for about 10 minutes.

• June 20, 2002 - Beit-Shemesh (continued): A family from Uzbekistan, who immigrated to Israel, reported seeing a UFO for three days in their city, Andijan. They observed three disk-shaped gray objects with a pinkish and azure light that turned into a "fire trail" due to the UFO's spin. Gabriel Borohov watched them with binoculars. A psychic relative reportedly warned them to leave, and two days later, Muslim citizens attacked Jewish homes and vehicles.

• June 21, 2002 - Haiffa: Hanitta observed a star-like lightened orb on Carmel mountain, turning around itself and moving from east to west above the sea. The object produced colored lights in green, red, and orange and was observed for 5 minutes.

• June 21-22, 2002 - Nesher (a city next Haiffa): Abi Greiff observed two large bright orange lights floating above the Down-Galilee ridge. The lights turned off sequentially, and other lights appeared in the sky at different locations and altitudes. The observation lasted until 00:25, with a dim white line of light seen moving diagonally downwards for about 1 second. No lights were seen afterward, even on the videotape.

July 2002

• July 2, 2002 - Ramat-Ha'Sharon (a city northern Tel-Aviv): Judy Pe'er photographed and videotaped lights near a military industry for about 47 minutes, starting at 02:30. The lights disappeared 20 minutes after she finished recording. This was a second sighting for her at this location.
