He observed a large entity, about 6 feet 8 inches tall, and a column of air that seemed to have caused his ascension. He was then moved into a room where he saw a table with lamps, and a large entity touched his shoulder, causing him to lose consciousness.

Upon regaining consciousness, John was lying on a table with a bar and screen above him. He described the screen as rectangular, about 30-36 inches long and 1.5 inches thick, with a honeycomb background emitting a faint glow. He felt heat and tingling as the screen moved over him. He noted the presence of three large entities and two smaller 'examiners'. The examiners used a pen-like instrument emitting a white light, held about half an inch above his body, causing further tingling and heat. John described the examiner as about 4 feet tall, wearing a white apron, with thick brown hair, triangular eyes, a light brown beak-like nose, and pointed ears. They had large, hairy hands with four fingers and claws.

John described the examination table as 6 feet long and 2.5 feet wide, with a soft surface of small bulbs. He was unable to move any limbs during the examination. He was then moved to another room and experienced a brief ascent into a higher level. He saw a large entity, possibly the 'leader', who touched his left shoulder, causing him to lose consciousness again.

Inside the Craft: Elaine's Account

Elaine's memories mirrored John's regarding the white light and green fog. She also experienced an 'ascension' and saw Kevin standing, also being affected. She lost consciousness and later found herself on the balcony with John, looking down at the blue car. She recalled seeing John, herself, and Kevin standing outside the car, with John's arm around Kevin. She also remembered a ramp in front of the car.

Elaine described being taken down a short descent, still holding Kevin. A hole appeared in the wall, revealing two 'examiners'. Kevin was taken from her, despite her resistance, by one of the large entities and an examiner. Elaine was then taken to a room with two tables, one concave and the other horizontal, surrounded by instruments. She was placed on the horizontal table and secured by straps. She described the table as having a surface of small bulbs.

She recalled two 'examiners' examining her body with a purple light-emitting instrument. She noted that the examiners made sounds like mumbling or singing. They paid particular attention to her left side, near the kidney area. The 'leader' entity then approached her, placed a finger on her forehead and fingers by her eyes, causing her to lose consciousness.

Upon waking, Elaine found herself on the table, no longer restrained, but unable to move. She described wearing a tight, hooded tunic similar to the entities' attire, made of a cellophane-like material that was opaque yet transparent. She then walked down a corridor and into another room where she saw John accompanied by two other entities, but they did not acknowledge each other. She then passed through a hole and ascended.

She found herself in the 'control room', recognizing it by the activity. A large entity led her to another seated entity, the 'leader', who spoke to her telepathically, asking if the experience was unpleasant. She realized they were not speaking audibly. She was then seated on a console and shown various instruments. She experienced a sensation of floating and was offered boxes of disc-shaped objects, which she declined. The leader then requested 'music', and an entity produced soothing harp-like sounds, explaining that each being had a talent. The leader told Elaine that they do not reproduce but use humans for their continuation, referring to them as their children.

After the music, Elaine was taken to another seat and shown how to operate the craft using colored squares on a panel. She was then shown an image of her home planet, identifying Earth from satellite views. She saw Great Britain, the Thames estuary, and illuminated streets. She was then taken to a darker area and asked to lie on a couch to watch the screen. She saw hundreds of plans, maps, and images at high speed, comparing it to an encyclopedia being downloaded into her mind. She recalled seeing a map of the solar system with 11 planets, instead of the usual 9. An hologram was then shown, depicting a scene from their planet's past, which they described as their origin and humanity's future.

Elaine was then instructed to touch a ball, as John and Kevin had done. The leader stated it was time to leave, and they would meet again. Elaine recalled being in a 'bitumenous and bare place' before getting into the car, which then dematerialized through a wall. She felt a jolt and the adventure ended. She later recalled being in a hangar, near her car, with stairs leading down to it. She saw the car facing the opposite direction, with a horseshoe-shaped wall. She was with the leader and the musician entity, who addressed them as Lyra and Ceres. She saw the children in the car and John about to enter.

An agricultural worker discovered a crater and reported it to his employer, Farmer Blanchard.

Traces (Traces)

The site presented an irregular circle, 7 to 7.50 meters in diameter, on a potato field, where all vegetation, including roots, had disappeared. Concentrically, within this circle, there was a depression 2.50 meters in diameter and 8 to 10 cm deep. At the center was a vertical well, 13 cm in diameter and 90 cm deep. Between the large depression and the edge of the denuded circle were four marks, each 1.25 meters long and 30 cm wide, with their furthest ends about 3 meters from the center. No signs of burning or scorching were present. A mine detector became completely agitated over the traces. Digging deeply revealed a piece of 'iron ore' (magnetite?) weighing 200 to 250g, which was significantly more magnetized than usual.

Interior Configuration of the Apparatus

John described the interior of the craft, which had three distinct levels. The upper level was the control room, oval-shaped (approximately 40 feet long and 30 feet wide), with seats and panels but no visible buttons or dials. It was illuminated by a pleasant white-grey light emanating from the walls. The middle level contained examination rooms, leisure rooms, a laboratory, and rest rooms, all oval-shaped and interconnected by instant-opening doors and tunnels. The lowest level was a large hangar with parallel supports on the walls. The oval shape of the rooms was attributed to a blow-molding process for simplicity. No windows were observed, except for one that opened to show Elaine where she lived. The interior material was described as a blend of plastic and metal, possibly a synthetic material. Consoles and instruments appeared molded into the floor. John was shown a drawing of the exterior, described as flattened oval, with an exhaust-like protrusion and a grille around the horizontal perimeter, possibly used for underwater operation or atmospheric direction.

Interior of the Apparatus

The interior was monochromatic, mostly a whitish-grey. The only other colors mentioned were a reddish viewfinder, the blue luminosity of two 'microscope' panels, and the brown skin and clear brown noses of the examiners. The entities' optical systems differ from ours, perceiving a different spectrum.

Welcome of the Entities

When John approached an entity, he felt overwhelmed by confused thoughts. The entities acknowledged this, stating he was not yet ready for 'multi-contacts' and needed to communicate with other entities besides the 'leader'. When another entity greeted John, the leader would translate the greeting.

Computer

When John asked about a computer, the entities indicated they had an organic computer that controlled the craft. They explained that their minds could connect directly to this organic computer, bypassing manual control through a thought-code system.

Communication

The entities did not use their own language but adopted human words from memory, communicating through telepathy at a highly advanced level, conveying vast amounts of information quickly. They worked on an emotional contact level, projecting images adapted to human emotional levels. They stated that prayer, meditation, and yoga were remnants of their primitive communication system, no longer in use.

Examiners

These beings, possibly named SeØtine or EsØtine, had no telepathic power. Elaine felt they were more afraid of humans than humans were of them. They explained they were from a different time period, possibly students or apprentices studying medicine and research on a different planet.

Spare Parts

If a spare part or object was needed, it would appear from the floor, originating from a storage area between the rooms.

Odors

An ozone-like smell was detected when a 'bar' or 'screen' passed over John's body while he was on the examination table.

Vibration

After seeing a hologram, the entire craft vibrated for a few seconds, at which point the leader indicated it was time to leave.

Propulsion System

The craft used an ion propulsion system, involving a large ball with an external covering that moved like a eyelid, emitting jets of ions to create a vortex that propelled the craft. This system was controlled by the central core and directed by a 'cannon' or 'activator' and external directional exhausts. Gravitational forces were counteracted by modifying the internal atmosphere, controlled by the organic computer. A magnetic propulsion system was also used, especially in Earth's atmosphere, as ion propulsion was considered dangerous. This magnetic system could also be used to make objects invisible and could be directed as a weapon, having previously been used to destroy missiles.

Coordinates

'Coordinates' or 'lines of force' were used for navigation and mapping, acting as directional aids and providing extra thrust for leaving Earth's atmosphere. These lines are part of a global network connecting Earth and other planets, though the full understanding and application of this system remain unclear to humans.

Submarine Bases?

John indicated that the entities have bases in Earth's oceans, in areas referred to as 'triangles'. These bases are underwater for protection, and their movements are primarily submerged, surfacing only near land.

Superior Beings or Not

Despite the entities' claim of being peaceful and benevolent, John sensed they could be capable of violence, though they seemed to possess more pity than humans. They gave the impression of being superior, like gods, but John felt they also die and can get sick, though they can heal many things.

Clothing

John and Elaine wore one-piece suits with hoods, while Kevin and Stuart wore similar suits. Elaine wore a long robe with a hooded cap. These garments were warm, natural, and felt like a second skin, possibly provided for hygiene reasons.

Designations of the Beings

Elaine recalled the leader calling a musician 'Ceres' and another being 'Lyra'. John mentioned a name that might be 'Zeiter' or 'Zeta'. These names are associated with celestial bodies (Ceres is the largest asteroid, Lyra is a constellation).

Children Inside the Craft

Karen and Stuart were presumed to be asleep during the encounter. There are references to children remaining in the car. Kevin recalled being given many tasks for when he grew up but had forgotten them.
