A 'click' was heard, and a small opening appeared on the side, emitting a bright light ray that struck the farmer's eyes, causing him to lose consciousness. The beings were described as not very robust, thin, and pale, about 1.50m tall, with slitted eyes. The incident also involved physical marks and physiological effects on the witness. The machine then rapidly ascended.
