The divers also discovered a 985-foot flattened 'runway' or 'downhill path' leading to the object, implying it skidded to a halt. While the object was initially detected on sonar during a search for a World War I wreck, funding and timing issues delayed a physical investigation until recently. Explanations have ranged from George Lucas's spaceship to a 'plug to the inner world.' Skeptics question the sonar technology, noting its past confusion of natural formations with unusual objects. The Baltic Sea is known to be a treasure trove for shipwreck hunters, with an estimated 100,000 objects on its floor.

Sightings at Transit of Venus

Two apparent sightings of strange objects were reported on YouTube during the recent transit of Venus. One video, purportedly taken by Chinese astronomers, shows an object moving across the face of the sun, which is eventually overtaken by the planet Venus. Details are scarce.

Sightings in Basingstoke area in May

Numerous sightings of unusual flashing lights were reported in the Basingstoke area. Postman Ron Brooker described seeing a 'dull white light' flickering and moving slowly. Two friends in Brighton Hill reported seeing green lights moving slowly back and forth, and Amy Waissen also witnessed similar lights. Sophie Tottman reported a 'long pale yellow cigar-shaped light' moving slowly over Fleet.

Sightings at Blue Springs, Missouri, USA

UFO investigators are interested in strange lights seen over Blue Springs. Neighbors reported multi-colored lights, and the Missouri UFO Network is investigating. Robert Kover initially noticed the lights and was confronted by a neighbor. Becky Neely described the lights as 'vibrating red, green and blue,' unlike anything seen before. Teresa Price saw the lights twice, noting one object dropped and became stationary. She considered the possibility of domestic drones used by local governments. Kover contacted KCTV5, and similar sightings were observed. Margie Kay of the Missouri UFO Network investigated, interviewing witnesses and using telescopes. While initially dismissing a sighting as the planet Vega, she later concluded it was unidentified due to its colors.

Somerset UFO

Two RAF Typhoon jets were scrambled over five counties due to a sonic boom, and were seen intercepting a mystery 'sock-shaped' object described as 'white and rocket-shaped.' The Met Office confirmed the object was not a weather balloon.

This article by Clark C. McClelland discusses an event during the Space Shuttle Columbia's STS-80 mission. Astronaut Dr. Story Musgrave observed a large disc-shaped object, approximately 50-150 feet in diameter, appearing to come from nowhere and rotating counter-clockwise. Musgrave stated he didn't know what it was but found its appearance 'impressive.'
